"The modern flag of the Terran Empire harkens back to the ' Imperial Equila' of the antediluvian Imperium of Ponykind, and indeed it has fueled accusations by those hostile to the Terran Empire that it is little more than a revival of a polity once defined by dictatorial tyranny, rampant militarism, xenophobic intolerance, reactionary paranoia and theocratic fanatism. However, such observations could not be further from the truth. The modern Terran Empire had chosen their colours and symbolism to reflect their character as being a far more inclusive, tolerant, unified and reasonable entity than the fallen empire built by their founder, the ancient Alicorn sovereign Golden Scepter, the Radiant Emperor, who had come a long way from the autocrat he once was...

"The green colour reflects simply the fertile lands of the Terran Empire itself, whereupon all its people - primarily Ponies, Griffons, Diamond Dogs and Minotaurs - walk and live upon, on top of the colour's traditional association with endurance, vitality, prosperity, balance and advancement... The striking double-headed bird-of-prey with its lightning bolts is associated with the Terran Thunderbirds which once soared over the Pony confederations, Griffon kingdoms, Diamond Dog underholds and Minotaur city-states of the lands which would become the empire, and to this day is still feared for their power over thunderstorms and lightning, and revered for their majestic golden appearance by all the Terran peoples irrespective of race, tribe or nation, making it a natural choice for the Terran national animal and its imperial symbol...

"The twin heads, looking in different directions, is attributed to represent one of the many ideals of the Terran Empire: a willingness to look to the past to learn from history and traditions both good or ill, and a desire to look to the future with hope and determination to build a better tomorrow for all its people. It may also represent the legendary Terran Thunderbird Invictus, the largest and most cunning and ferocious Terran Thunderbird to ever existed, a two-headed mutant which once dwell and held dominion over large swathes of modern Terran imperial territory as its hunting grounds and whom Golden Scepter fought, defeated, and then befriended early in his reign, becoming his divine animal companion. Legend says Invictus still slumbers in a cave hidden somewhere upon the Terran Empire's highest peak, healing from wounds it had sustained shielding the Radiant Emperor from a foe's attack, but would one day awaken to defend its master and his dominion once more..."

Ave Terra! Here we have the flag of the Terran Empire from our Codex Equus collab. A simple design, but one which I think reflects its power and character pretty well. I might come back in the future to add a few things.
