BrutalityInc: Alright, so the “Internationale” and the “Emancipation of Humanity” timelines had either gone nowhere or are in a writer’s block. But I had a lot of ideas from the research I made for those two timelines which I realize could be put together into a THIRD ‘Non-Dystopian Commiewank’ timeline scenario, one where the Soviet Union not only survives but become the world’s sole superpower (or hyperpower), ensuring Communism became the predominant socio-economic and political ideology on Earth, while the United States of America collapsed along with most other Capitalist powers. This will be developed into a full-blown timeline, but here we will have a present-day overview of the world where the ‘Red Star’ has triumphed.

Points Of Divergence:
1) The Bolsheviks accepted the Germans' first version of the "Treaty of Brest-Litovsk" in January 1918.
2) Subsequent 'Butterflies' in events led to a different, more successful Kronstadt Rebellion in 1921.

As the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics (USSR) celebrates its centenary in 2021, its future looks secure and bright. Not everything is perfect, and not every step on its way had been without sacrifice, hardship and mistakes, but from its shaky beginnings it had grown from strength to strength, and from a backward and impoverished empire it has grown into the world’s geopolitical hyperpower. Stretching from Kaliningrad in the west to Vladivostok in the east, the USSR straddles across Eurasia like a colossus, with around 320 million Soviet citizens of more than 100 distinct ethnic groups living in the sixteen republics that constitute the nation. Economically, with the collapse of the United States of America in the 1990s the USSR became and remains one of the prosperous economies on the planet, rivalled if not surpassed only by the Union of European Council Republics (UECR) and the Democratic Republic of China (DRC) in quality and size, with its hybrid Market Socialist/Decentralized Planned Economy proving able to deliver a high standard of living, especially with the technological support from the ongoing ‘Big Data Revolution’. Though many of the USSR’s opponents had and still criticized it as such - whether overtly or in disguise - the near-successful Kronstadt Rebellion and the subsequent concession that is the “Kronstadt Constitution” in 1921 had unraveled the Bolsheviks’ authoritarian one-party dictatorship, installing a form of the promised ‘Soviet Democracy’ that allowed the USSR to evolve into a far more functional and robust republican nation. While the modern day Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) remains a dominant political force in Soviet politics, many other non-CPSU political parties of socialist, left-nationalist and other characteristics exists, some of which are prominent and competitive enough to keep the CPSU in check. From present polls, the coming congressional and General Secretary elections at present looks likely to sweep the Soviet Democratic Labour Party (SDLP)* into power for a third time in USSR’s history.
