this photo of the school of Pripyat from the very idea of abandonment and desolation.

It 'hard to believe that 20,000 people lived there at one time.

it's ok.
i had a chance to speak with person, who was partially responsible for the evacuation, he said that transport with 50.000 of seats wasn't enough.

Aaah, sorry, I can't help but come back to your gallery to take a look at these . The colours are so surreal, and hearing people say it was only twenty-three years ago... It's still hard for me to wrap my head around.

i understand you very well..
since the first time i've visited the Zone i've became addicted to it... it lives in me, in my head... and i often imagine like how things are changing in the Zone during different seasons, wild animals roaming inside those abandoned buildings...how young tree brakes the surface of the road and so on... after second visit i want to go there more and more. it's something like a drug.

Thanks you very much! i'm glad that those pics didn't left you indifferent.

This looks really amazing!!! It reminds of something from Call of Duty 4 which I am pretty sure had a mission set in Pripyat.

The loss of time and the sense of abandonment are prominent here, it gives one the chills.
Very eerie mood going on here as well, and your use of post-processing is interesting to note, it almost gives the capture a colourful, lush environment. It's an interesting juxtaposition of context and technique

Thank you so much for your comment. There is a discussion about such way of post-processing and some deviants (and friends) are saying that images are acid-like and overpoisoned by pp... to be honest such different points of view made me puzzled a bit.

TheDeadwillExodus In reply to Brute-ua [2009-05-14 12:36:14 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you.
The way I see it, Post Processing can be pushed to reach the desired mood the photographer wants to portray within his/her captures

So you're allowed to just walk around the ruins now? There's no threat of radioactivity or anything?
I can't imagine seeing something like this in person. I'm sure I'd cry.

=^..^=~

Brute-ua In reply to CatGirlPrime [2009-05-12 03:22:30 +0000 UTC]

not anywhere.. there are some dangerous places 'cos of the radiation and some 'cos of the building's possibility to break-down... f.e. one of this school's part collapsed few years ago...
