Description Here is my take on the crew of Deep Space 9 after the events of "What You Leave Behind".

Colonel Kira Nerys - Commanding Officer - Bajoran, Female
She was promoted to Commanding Officer following the disappearance of Captain Sisko. She has to face the monumental task of commanding the station as it acts as one of the main supply bases and rallying points for relief missions into Cardassian space and along the border, made harder with a new crew and trying to deal with all the personal losses she has suffered recently.

Commander Austin Harris - First Officer - Human, Male
A decorated starship officer, following the end of the war he requested a station assignment so that he could be with his family once again. Organised and methodical, he'll work hard to see that the station handles everything that's thrown at it. Meanwhile his wife, Adele, looks into opening up her own business on the Promenade.

Lieutenant Commander Hjon Taelor - Second Officer - Bolian, Male
Assigned primarily to oversee the U.S.S. Defiant, he also has a role to play on the station. Headstrong and confident, he is eager to embrace the challenges the new frontier presents.

Captain Navar Reo - Chief Security Officer - Bajoran, Male
Head of Station Security, he was previously assigned to colony of New Haven. A dogged investigator and sought after interrogator, once he’s on a case he never lets up until its solved to his satisfaction.

Lieutenant Jill Myers - Chief Tactical Officer - Human, Female
First assigned to DS9 after it was recaptured from the Dominion, she served under Lt. Commander Worf until his resignation, after which she was promoted to head up the Tactical Department. A model officer, she shows great potential for the future.

First Lieutenant Lin Kelsi - Chief Science Officer - Bajoran, Female
She managed to avoid the Occupation, raised on a world in neutral space. There she attended university, after which she decided to go to Bajor, following its liberation. After spending several years on Bajor at R&D facilities, she requested the open assignment on DS9 wanting to test herself.

Lieutenant Julian Bashir MD - Chief Medical Officer - Human (genetically enhanced), Male
He may have had to say goodbye to his friend, Miles O’Brien, but he takes comfort in his new relationship with Ezri. Though much of the new work DS9 has taken on lands at his feet, he continues to show his professionalism and charm in doing what needs to be done.

Lieutenant JG Ezri Dax - Chief Counsellor - Trill (Joined), Female
With so much loss, pain, grief and anger following the war, she has a lot to deal with in her professional life. She has Julian to help steady her and bounce ideas off of as they work together to heal all the injured, both physically and mentally, that pass through.

Lieutenant JG Nog - Chief Station Operations Officer - Ferengi, Male
Heeding all the advice given to him by Chief O’Brien, sheer grit and resolve, as well as everything his uncle has taught him, he keeps the station running almost as smoothly as his predecessor.

Ensign Syrell - Chief Flight Control Officer - Vulcan, Female
Assigned to pilot the U.S.S. Defiant whenever on mission, she combines Vulcan logic with an elegant grace to see the ship through whatever manoeuvres it has to make. Her war record speaks for itself, even if she avoids talking about it.

Of course, the likes of Quark, Jake Sisko and Kasidy Yates-Sisko are still on the station, but since they’re not Starfleet I haven’t included them here.

I was thinking the end of S9 might be when Bajor is finally admitted to the Federation, so she would become a Starfleet Captain.
