producer : it's perfect , godzilla , we have a new script out
(godzilla comes walking in)
godzilla : ok , we need to talk about this children's superhero thing , it's very demeaning (puts the script down) i'm the king of monsters for god's sake (sets down a half-eaten fish) i used to poison the waters of every location i visited , my arrival on the scene would be a raging thunderclap of fear , now it's "hey , did you see that godzilla movie , yeah , i especially liked the part where godzilla jumped around like a dumbass after defeating king ghidorah" (follows the director in to a stage room) and i'm pretty sure the guys in the kaiju accounting are laughing at me behind my back , those guys are turbo nerds (turns to his right) i bet none of them have had a date since the ice age (shakes his fists to his right) HEAR THAT YOU DATELESS TURBO NERDS (points to his right) I'M ON TO YOU

Any chance of a drawing based off of the new Legendary film? It felt a lot like an updated version of the late 60's-early 70's Showa-era films this drawing is based off of.

By "new legendary film" are you referring to the new Godzilla 2014 film?Β
I loved it, but if I was to draw more Godzilla, thereΒ are several actual old Showa era films I would rather do illustrations of first.Β

Jellar raped with wombat

Firebird, death expected

Megavolt Monsters spears up asses
The Seaweed Monster wasn't very scary
But Atlantis Colossus very hairy
Cyclops Monster he got trapped
Chimera napped and happed
Minotaur got horns knocked off
Double chest chop Sirens
Magnotaur saw his magnets flying
Breeder's death was never-ending
Time Dragon he never died
Diplodo did, though life he tried
Plant Monster crushed by bison
Kicked the shit out of Voltrang Monster
Fly Monster was burned and blasted
Had to hand a thing named Gravity Goliath
Ice people crushed by weights so heavy
Found the head of Octopus
Super X got crushed by building
Bashed and thrashed the Super X II
Giant Dragonfly was found
Jellyfish guts unwound
Red Bamboo blew up quickly
COBRA group rather wonky
Ant Queen's head was on a stick
Royal Ant Guard what a dick
Electric Eels run down by camel
Double arm rip Spider Crab
Sea Turtle got a spear up ass
Giant Ants quickly gassed
Antlion was executed
Giant Beetle electrocuted
Bee Queen murdered mama
Gruesome killing of Black Widow
The Mutos saw their guts spilling
Bagan saw the killing

Truly king of the monsters. Any chance of Q the Winged Serpent or Smaug (the proper Tolkien Smaug with four legs not the crappy Peter Jackson one).

I love that movie Q the Winged Serpent but hadn't really thought about drawing him.
...Maybe something to consider?
Aww, I would never call Peter Jackson's version of Smaug "crappy"! I thought he was great!
...But that said, nah, I enjoy Lord of the Rings/ Tolkein stuff, but I've sorta made a decision not to bother doing any fan-art of it... mostly because everybody else on Deviant Art is already doing plenty of that!! But if I was gonna draw anything from LOTR/Tolkein, it would be the Orcs. They were my favorite things in all those movies.
When it comes to fantasy- adventure I am much more of a fan of Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian stories than Tolkein's Hobbits & Middle Earth stuff, to tell you the truth. I also really love George RR Martin's "Song of Ice & Fire" / "Game of Thrones"Β (which is basically Lord of the Rings for grownups). If I was gonna draw fantasy stuff it would be more in that direction.

I am definitely interested in the upcoming film. I sure hope it turns out better than the 1990's Sony Pictures/ Roland Emmerich Godzilla movie. I thought that was awful and the creature ("GINO"- Godzilla in Name Only) was unrecognizable as the monster I loved from childhood.

I like 60's Godzilla. He didnt take himself too seriously but he still whooped some ass.
I liked it when the suit was falling apart and being held together by duct tape.

My favorite is the 70's Godzilla. By the 70's they had figured out how to do the suit right so it wasn't falling apart, but it was still just unsophisticated enough to keep it looking cool in a goofy way.

Before I saw this one, I had been thinking "Wow, this gallery has just about everything that I have ever enjoyed all rolled up into one awesome spot... It is only missing one thing." But now, my good sir, you have utterly negated the last portion of that thought with the creation of this piece. I may now officially declare you my hero. Keep up the mind-blowing work!
