Description
My own personal interpretation of the big guy, done in between school work during my winter semester at AAU. Exaggerated some of his classic elements for sure, threw in Hedorah for fun. Ended up using it for a Giant Squid show flier in December 2010. And then... it was the back cover of G-FAN magazine April 2011!!! Holy crap!Pencils, Inks, and digital coloring by me.

Godzilla, triumphantly roaring over the lifeless (or almost lifeless) body of one of his most wretched enemies, Hedorah, the smog monster! Everyone loves to draw him for some reason (especially trying to envelope the Big G) and I'm not sure why but I guess I can't complain, he was a pretty sick monster (in the slang and literal meaning of the word!) Godzilla just really looks sinister here: his arms are in great position, appearing as if he is ready to tear something (or someone) apart! His thick tail, which, for it's maneuverability, is extremely powerful, is greatly displayed, moving from one end of the scene to the other with ease! His gray, thorny spines which actually look like your own design is actually a nice touch (and I mean the design, we all know that Godzilla HAS to have dorsal spines!) His claws look even meaner though, having more of a thick, strong, concrete look to them, a lot more so than the spines which look a lot more organic (which isn't a bad thing in any way, just saying!) But I guess what really draws attention to the whole thing is his head! With whited-out eyes, giving him a ghostly appearance (just like GMK-Zilla from the 2001 film), and ominous atomic breath just slightly seeping from is gaping jaws, filled with dagger-like teeth that could tear an eva (don't ask) to shreds (well, they could tear just about tear anything, well not ANYthing, but ALMOST everything to shreds!) Go Big G! As for Hedorah, nice job making him look liquidly and toxic! Though he has a blank look in his only eye, which makes him look dead, his arm is beginning to slowly, with little strength, wrap around Godzilla's leg, proving that the pollution-based savage is not dead, only defeated! Well, since we ARE talking about Godzilla and he IS charging his atomic beam, I doubt he'll be alive for much longer now!

Very energetic, good composition and linework; very bumpy and scaly. Nice coloring too. Brings up nice memories of a pissed off Godzilla killing Hedorah. Love it!

Good use of the green tones, and the skin texture is good. The background is dark but blends well with the figures. The tail may be a little too graphic and exagerated, but I am sure that was intentional, and the addition of Hedorah blended well with the tail. This blends well with the music of Giant Squid, so i see a definite style behind the work. Just watch the exageration on the anatomy, but otherwise it is a wel lcomposed illustration.
