The slasher kind of reminds me a classic Scooby Doo villain with the creepy costume, the eerie green glow and horrific face. Kind of like a much scarier version of The Creeper.
I also love how you made the night gown see-through so it's erotic and has a really good teaser element to it.

Haha, awesome comment. I didn't think of it as a Scooby Doo type villain but with the crazy colors yeah I could see how it might be interpreted that way... (Man, how I'd LOVE to see a Scooby Doo cartoon like THIS! Haha).
Ya noticed the see-through nightgown. heehee. A staple of 1960's and 1970's European horror movies... and one of my personal favorite guilty pleasures.

Thanks.
Β I recently found an artist on here that did a series of the original Scooby Doo villains but painted them in a realistic horror movie style. I only wish they looked this badass in the cartoon starvingzombie.deviantart.com/β¦
Β I am also a fan of the see -through night gowns in the old horror movies. Dracula's brides wouldn't be as hot if they weren't wearing those things. Β

No problem
They're pretty awesome. I'm surprised you never did fan art like that and have Daphne running around half naked from The Tar Monster or something

Oh dude, you have no idea. I've been torturing certain close friends of mine (who are also fellow Scooby fans) for YEEEARS with all the ideas I've spouted for a "Rated R" Scooby Doo comic book (parody) that I keep promising to write and draw... "One of these days..."

Nice! So its just at the idea phase and you never did any sketches yet?

It's been at the "idea phase" for probably 12 years. Never did one sketch.
However...
Trivia Fact: I did almost get hired as a storyboard artist on the actual Scooby Doo "Mystery Incorporated" TV series.
Long story, but... One day back in 2009, I was at the Warner Bros offices, visiting friends who work there, and poking around for a job on some superhero show (I forget which one it was... maybe Brave and the Bold? Was that show in production in 2009? I forget). Anyway during that visit, I found out that they were also just beginning to develop the "Mystery Incorporated" Scooby show in offices down the hall. I saw some of the early artwork and got real excited about it. Scooby Doo was always my favorite cartoon as a little kid and it would be my dream to work on a good rendition of the show... and based on the early designs, "Mystery Incorporated" looked like the best version in years. So my friends introduced me to the producer who loved my stuff. My portfolio was full of monsters and funny animals (I had some of my Tigger and Pooh work for Disney in there) which made the producer say I would be a perfect fit for the show. He said he woulda hired me right there on the spot... if only I'd visited him just a couple weeks earlier!! It seemed they had JUST finished hiring, and all the available slots for artists were already filled. But he was a nice guy and said I'd be his first choice person to call, if any of the guys they'd already hired ended up not working out.
Well, about two weeks later, out of nowhere, I got a phone call from other friends at Hasbro TV Animation, offering me a storyboard artist job on "Transformers: Prime"... a job thatΒ kept me busy for the next 3 years. I've been drawing robots for a living, ever since. So the story had a happy ending... but man, to this day it still breaks my heart I didn't get to work on "Mystery Incorporated".

What about plotting the R Rated Scooby project? Did you ever write out the plot at least so you don't forget it? I constantly do that with sketches and mini comic ideas. It's just finding the time to do them that's the bitch.
It sucks that you didn't get to work on Scooby Doo but working on a Transformers cartoon is pretty damn awesome. Plus there will always be a Scooby Doo show or comic of some kind so I think you still got a shot at living your dream.

Nah, never bothered writing anything down for that. It's all up here (points at head).
Currently I have way too many other comics projects that I am having too much fun working on.
But I keep thinking, someday it would be fun to do my "Rated R" version of Scooby Doo!

Still making notes usually helps refine the idea, at least in my case. Just don't make notes when your drunk or high because they will never make any goddamn sense.
Well I hope your able to get to it someday. I'd love to see a properly done R rated Scooby Doo. Robot Chicken came close when they had them go up against Jason Voorhees.

Yeah I hope to get my act together and start selling prints one of these days.
This "Monsters and Girls" series would be good ones to maybe start with.

Brilliant! Love the way this is set up. I can feel the suspense and terror!
Though that candle / floaty night gown combo is a bit of a fire hazard!

Haha thank you for the comment.
And for your concern about the fire hazard.
You are right.
That is a good point, that I don't think this dear lass considered.

You are the second person to say that. But I swear, "Jeepers Creepers" never crossed my mind once while drawing or coloring this image. I only saw that movie once, way back when it came out, and thought it was "okay".Β
No, this image was inspired by much older influences.
Jack the Ripper
Mysteries of the Wax Museum
Blood and Black Lace
Dark Intruder...
There are many great old movies and stories about shadowy maniacs in hats and overcoats stalking young lovlies...Β

But I am curious as to what he'll look like and what illustration it would be if you did draw it.
