Description
The 1931 version of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Fredric March is equally charming and tragic as Dr. Jekyll… then savage and terrifying when he turns into Mr. Hyde. For this performance, he won the Best Actor Academy Award.Miriam Hopkins is both sexy and heartbreaking as Ivy, the doomed prostitute. My depiction of her is based on her near-nude scene in the movie, when she strips and swings her bare leg off the side of the bed, to tempt the good, incorruptible Dr. Jekyll. Yes, some old black-and-white movies did have nudity, sexuality, and graphic violence. This one sure does, and remains as shocking today, as it was in 1931.
This is traditional art. I drew it with good old-fashioned ink brush and a bit of hawk-quill, on bristol board paper. I only used Photoshop to add the digital gray tones. Hope you like it!

Simply stunning - what should I say more! BaW style gives it that perfect "old school" feeling.

Thank you... Yes I was originally planning to color this one, but when I finished it, I thought, I dunno, I just don't see it in color. So I kept it black and white, like the movie.

I´m absolutely sure it would look great even if you would color it - but this is nostalgia and I can´t imagine movie from that time in color. So your decision was good
