So I saw the movie Oblivion the other day and I loved the landscapes in that movie. I tried to make a similar landscape in Terragen and ended up with what is above. I love the way the mountains and rivers came out and how there are stormy clouds rolling in. I'm also glad I finally mastered making detailed planets. Just look at how awesome that planet looks. That is awesome! I love how ethereal the outer planet and rings look, it's what I'd expect a sister planet to look like through atmosphere.
I'm actually surprised this wasn't photomanipulation, the landscape, water, mountains, clouds, etc. all look real.
I also love the two contrails in the background, apparently this planet is inhabited. LOL! Great!

Thanks! I love putting all the small details in like the contrails and all. And I believe it took me 2 hours to render the landscape so that's why it looks so nice. Thanks for your comment!

May I ask how you did this picture? I mean with a 3D-program or photoshop, because
it looks pretty real and I can't really tell by just looking at the picture.
