Description
Another TWverse character update, this time for one of TW's major archvillains: the English lord and adventurer turned immortal and invulnerable madman with delusions of godhood, Apotheos.
Over time I began to feel that Apotheos was not suitably conveying to me a sense of being a high-class, aristocratic mastermind who believes that he is a god, or destined to become one. His silhouette was too bulky, he looked too scruffy, and his colors and outfit designs seemed too plain and pedestrian to me. I wanted to make him look slick and fancy, and make his delusion manifest through his outfit, with something that conveyed a sense that he believes himself to be above petty mortals. And I wanted him to have a white color scheme with gold accents, both to convey that general sense of divinity, and as kind of a symbolic counterpart to Thunder Woman herself, to visually illustrate the essential threat Apotheos poses as a would-be suitor for her who would tempt her onto a darker path.
I also wanted to nail down Apotheos' gear a bit, as while he had his invulnerability, I had only the vaguest notions of what he would do in combat and as a proactive player. So I took the sword from just being some random weapon into a very specific item: the Sword of Peleus, father of Achilles, made by Hephaestus from adamantine and enchanted by the gods to be "irresistible."
I also decided to give him a magical staff, the "Rhabdos," which he carries around and pretends to use as a cane, for some more interesting combat and story options. And then finally, I gave the pendant on his shirt a more interesting design and name: the "Opthalmos," which allows him a variety of quasi-psychic options like mind reading, banishing illusions, and hypnotism/mind control. Not pictured is that he has a device in his coat that is designed to spray an aerosol made from concentrated essence of lotus, for quickly incapacitating an adversary.
I also have an expanded role for Apotheos that includes him becoming one of Thunder Woman's earliest big villains, including a tie-in into her origin story. But details on that will come later.
Anyway, that's all for now. I hope you all enjoyed this, and stay tuned for more!

Very much so, if in the "corporate executive" mold ala Patrick Bateman (sans need to commit gruesome violence).
