I think Sunshine has a lot of potential in the series. Β
My thoughts is that she becomes Twilight's student (like Twilight was with Celestia) and she learns lessons herself that she can pass on to others, who then learn from her.

If there really is anything about Sunset Shimmer I hate/dislike (and I Don't), it would have to do more with how she was poorly portrayed as a villain or character even. Such a real shame actually [Just Look at her Design!!! It's so great I can hear it screaming "Make me an awesome three dimensional character!!!"]. But yeah that has more to do with stuff besides the character herself.
Anyways getting off topic.
Love your work, and the possibilities of 'What If' scenarios it brings. I'm sure Sunset Shimmer would make a better good guy than bad guy.
