Description
August... eh... challenge?
OK, so this doesn't actually have anything to do with the Deviant Universe's current story arc. That story is taking place a month after the events of July's story and this is pretty much just the next day after Diago gets captured. I wouldn't really blame *mja42x if he doesn't include it with the rest of this month's comics, but seeing as how I made this comic as a direct result of Diago's involvement of in the DU, this still technically makes it a DU comic.
In a way I almost want to apologize and explain myself. I mean, after all, Baal is still on the loose, his character is developing more, and there are some cool ideas I have for him that I could've done this month. But Diago getting captured just seemed like a perfect opportunity for me to delve into his supporting cast a little more and finally introduce another important character from Diago's past...

I'm a little surprised by people's reactions to this new character.

What is most people's reaction? I mean, I like him for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who knows me - but still.

And the fact that he's a living surveillance camera. I can't imagine why I like that idea so much

It's a mystery.
I don't even know why I created him. I just had to draw Mr. Veillance.

Sometimes we don't create characters; they force themselves on us. They've been trapped in nothingness, waiting to appear, and when the right mind comes along they force themselves out through our finger-tips onto the page.

I've had his concept for a long time, I've just never been able to draw him until now. I just could never seem to get his head to match his body... I don't know how to explain it.

Makes sense; it's rather amusing timing, as I've been studying surveillance in one of my university courses - CCTV in particular, so seeing him was a double dose of amusement.

It's a nod to a previous comic I made for the DU.
If you're curious, you can find out what he means here.
