Description

This is an idea that I've been toying around with for some time now in my head. Not the cover, but the story that supposedly would be inside of it. The renewed interest that has somehow sprung up for the Floating Lands world among the members of my group motivated me to draw a cover summing up the conflict of the story. And really, this new energy in the group has sort of taken me by surprise. I thought the whole thing had just tapered off and died out (which I am willing to take a large portion of the blame for). But an influx of new art and characters and even new artists wanting to join has slowly been inspiring me.

But getting back to this picture:
To sum up what I've been kicking around in my head for a long time now, the collaborative story between *DrunkenOracle , ~GrantPAdams , and I ended on a cliffhanger. Mia Alvarez and Justice Kennedy accidentally get stranded in the Floating Lands and are separated. Hunted by the locals as "Outsiders", Justice gets discovered by another outsider-in-hiding, Titus Peake and Mia gets tricked by a mythical prankster into thinking her only way home is to travel to the capital city of Cloud Forge. Unaware of where Mia is, Justice forms an alliance with Titus and the chapter ends with Mia leaving the island she was trapped on.
This cover illustrates the general plot I'm aiming for in future episodes. The largest threat to outsiders in the Floating Lands is the Order of the Holy Inquisitors and ~TBPow 's Robert "The Claw" Oswald is the inquisitor I've wanted to use as the main villain that hunts down Mia and the rest of her group. Here we see The Claw joyously eliminating our main characters while Mia's teacher, Latif Sage (by *Latif-Saeed ), watches helplessly in the background.

This is the thing that I love so much about the Proving Grounds concept: it's collaborative nature. Everyone who participates, contributes to the world and then we all benefit from the pool of resources.
