Description This is a piece of fan art that I made out of repsect for a kick ass game.
It's called The Suffering and if you have not played it before, you need to. Alone. In the dark. In the middle of the night.
Those who have played this before know what I'm talking about. It is creepy as hell!

I want to color this but first I want to get the whole image. As you can see it has been cut off a little. That is because I got the biggest scanner that I could find and my sketch pad still won't fit. My idea is to get ahold of a digital camera and take a picture of it then just crop it down on the computer. Then you'll all get to see it in color! Horrable color!
mwaaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

See, I'm not sure. I'd have to play the game again.
I know in the second Suffering game he is bearfoot (because I remember making a note of it) but the first game, I could've sworn he had shoes on. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that maybe you're thinking of the second game?

Your insanity mode and the special attack you get all change according to how good or bad you are in the game.
If you're good, your insanity mode will start to glow a greenish blue and your most powerful attack will be electricity. If you're evil, you'll turn spikey and red and your most powerful attack will be fire.

OooOOOO!
You've been playing the FIRST game!

Never mind. The comment you replied to was about the second game, so my reply to you was about the second one. Please disregard. Furthermore, your insanity mode in the first game doesn't change it's looks regardless of your alignment.

So enjoy.

You didn't know that? That was one of their major selling points of the game.

Not only that, but I ,personally, liked all the backhistory I learned about Torque. The second game told a good story (and had some cool new monsters) and that made it worth playing (to me, at least).

Sounds like I'm gonna habe to play and finish The Suffering 1 during the holydays so's I can buy the second game. But,dude, please don't tell me anything about Torque's history.
He so reminds me of Wolverine and Jericho Cross from Darkwatch.

I with you, there. By default I'm a good guy.
You know, I've played games where I could choose to be good or evil, but The Suffering was the first game I actually felt bad for the guys I was being evil to. And the dead wife talking in my head didn't help me to feel better, either.

Games like Fable?
Yeah,in Suffering there is something weird. You know that the game was based on Eastern State Penatentary? It's supossed to be haunted.I found that info in Gameplay,a gaming magazine.

Fantastic, it's always awesome to find fellow Suffering fans.

Now, do you prefer the first to the second one, or vice versa?

Bug-Off In reply to axenblade [2006-10-02 15:15:07 +0000 UTC]

Jeeze, I don't know. They're both awsome and they both have elements that I love.

I liked how in the second one, your morality had a greater impact in the game, like changing your insanity mode, and effecting the outcome of the game.
The first one just had a better setting, though. The suffering inside our prision systems just made for a better atmosphere. Also, I liked the monsters in the fist one better. They just felt more memerable.

All in all, I felt that the two did a wonderful job of complementing each other. The first one got you hooked, and the second one finished the story. I love them both.
If I were forced, though, I'd say the first one is my favorite.
