9 - 11 - 04My tribute to 9-11-01. We must always remember the courage and pride of everybody who was involved in the rescue efforts and the thousands who died. This is for all those affected directly and indirectly by the attacks.
Lest we forget.

This is a great picture, and I think the admins chose a good time to put it up, considering yesterday. My heart goes out to any family who has been harmed by these attacks, here in America or in Britain or Spain or Russia and so on; my heart goes out to any citizen of any country who has had to face this fear. No matter how old you are and no matter how angry you might be initially, there's still fear, and that is the purpose of these attacks. We can't give into that, though, and you're certainly right, we can't forget.

It's true that these attacks are made to instill fear in people. I've lost a close friend and a friend's father in two separate attacks, Bali 2002 and Jakarta 2003. We stayed strong and keep living here, though.

i've been in NY twice since 9.11 and i've been at ground zero for at least 4 or 5 times, but it never struck me.
there's something that takes away it's meaning, i feel it cold and devoid of emotion, in contrast with the monument at the battery park [link] which always strikes me with all its strength. maybe it's because i've never seen the wtc standing in all its glory.
your picture gives me the same feeling that the battery park does.
you did a great work and paid a wonderful tribute to all the people that died at the wtc.

You, are so right about never forgetting September 11th on the anniversary this year five of us did three ceremonies one that included for the local wives who's husbands are in Irag right now. It was sad I cried.

Every day people, at work. Every day people, flying to their destinations. Every day people, passing by. Every day people, risking their lives to save others.
I love this. It's a great tribute for September 11. It's not an event that hit's me very close but it still does in a way, like it does everyone. I love the silhouettes of the girls, especially the one on the right. You can feel a lot of expression just from her pose. I'm not sure about the other girl though. Her pose doesn't seem to tie into the overall feeling. Great piece anyway, wonderful focus too, almost perfect.

i dont know, im not feeling this photo. the letters on the - its a window i guess - are irritating, the contrasts in the background are too smooth and the girls look like they were posing

The letters are from a transparent ad right behind the gate, and the girls i had never met before. I just saw them looking through the gate and took a photo...
