Description My fellow pokΓ©mon artist and friendly neighborhood nemesis Justin Hall recently launched his own site to host his comic strips in a more comfortable fashion, and thus I felt compelled to give it some attention in the only way I can. His Sleep Tackle is one of my own personal favorites, but seeing as it's one of his earlier productions, I concluded that it was in need of some treatment. This would be a great opportunity to work in my own site name, but I won't.

Ever heard of him? Maybe you should have. Go and check out his stuff.

ROFL! Poor Butterfree. And the fact that the trainer is just trying to catch a Rattata is even funnier.

This must be based before gen 5, since Tackle got upgraded since then.

Sometimes I really want to know how the hell can we missed a sleeping opponent when we know they couldn't move when fallen asleep? Nice job!

Maybe they rolled over?
Always what I thought so my mind didn't get all caught up in wondering how the hell that happened.

All I can think is, fallen asleep is always the best time to go all-out. People would always be surprised to see when your attack missed even when they are sleeping

Wasserbienchen In reply to ??? [2011-10-20 21:36:37 +0000 UTC]

I was gonna write that as of 3rd Gen, Butterfree's tackle can't miss any more, but I'm actually not sure, now that I think of it. If a move has 100% accuracy, can it still miss…? I mean, Earthquake has 100%, but it does have a chance of missing without evasion/accuracy being meddled with, right? So even if Tackle has 123% accuracy on a Butterfree, it can miss? Or can't it? Or will moves such as Earthquake never miss? That'd be weird, I'm sure they do miss occasionally, just… very rarely… maybe they don't have perfect accuracy?
AAARGH, PokΓ©mon maths!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ShiningRayWolf In reply to Wasserbienchen [2011-10-20 22:44:15 +0000 UTC]

In Gen I, attacks with 100% accuracy (when not raising the evasion that is) had in fact an accuracy of 99,6%.

Maybe this oddity was kept throughout the generations, who knows ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wasserbienchen In reply to ShiningRayWolf [2011-10-20 22:52:59 +0000 UTC]

Ah, ok. Yes, it probably was... now the real question is... what about 100+ accuracy?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ShiningRayWolf In reply to Wasserbienchen [2011-10-21 00:04:14 +0000 UTC]

If the accuracy exceeds 100%, then it's impossible to miss.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Wasserbienchen In reply to ShiningRayWolf [2011-10-21 07:36:33 +0000 UTC]

Ah, ok... thanks for the info. In that case, the issue is at least irrelevant for Butterfree anymore. (Which is not meant in any way negatively for the comic, on a side note.)

ShiningRayWolf In reply to Wasserbienchen [2011-10-21 11:56:21 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, thanks to Compoundeyes

Mjolnir-Thunder In reply to ShiningRayWolf [2011-10-21 06:32:13 +0000 UTC]

Aside this, in Gen I abilities didn't exist yet, and Tackle didn't have 100% accuracy back then. So a Butterfree's Tackle still had the 95% accuracy anything else would have when using it.
