Description
My fellow pokΓ©mon artist and friendly neighborhood nemesis Justin Hall recently launched his own site to host his comic strips in a more comfortable fashion, and thus I felt compelled to give it some attention in the only way I can. His Sleep Tackle is one of my own personal favorites, but seeing as it's one of his earlier productions, I concluded that it was in need of some treatment. This would be a great opportunity to work in my own site name, but I won't.Ever heard of him? Maybe you should have. Go and check out his stuff.

It's even funnier in later gens since it now says "_____ avoided the attack!". Guess the sleeping poke rolled over.

Imagine my frustration when my attacks miss Snorlax or Wailord. Β How the #$^* do you miss a 1,000 lb sleeping tub of lard or a blue whale?

Maybe their aim was off so the attack hit at a weird angle and bounced harmlessly off of some blubber rather than actually "missing."Β Though that doesn't really work for every attack -- punches or Bullet Seed or Rock Throw sure... Slash or Flamethrower, not so much.

That reminds me of a (unrelated) scene from the season 1 final: A Butterfree successfully used Sleep Power against Ash's Charizard in the tournament, and that was counted as a knockout.
It makes sense, but not from a gameplay perspective. It also implies that sleep moves are very cheap one-hit-k.o. moves in the anime continuity.

Actually, it was Squirtle who was put to sleep. Charizard just wouldn't obey Ash.

Have you ever tried getting glasses for compound eyes?
It would be even more expensive than a bicycle.

Something kind of related that I discovered a long time ago. I'm not sure how many other people knew about it, but as I played through my original Red Version I was getting whopped by Brock for trying to use Charmander. SO! My last Pokemon was my Metapod...facing his ONIX. Onix used Tackle, and missed. Ok not uncommon. He tried again, and missed again. Ok, that's some luck. Yet again Tackle was used, and yet again somehow it missed. Every move used by Brocks Onix against my Metapod missed. Not a single move made contact, allowing my Metapod to attain a Flawless Victory against an Onix. Needless to say I got a free Butterfree. So in short, in the original games, or at least in Red, there was a glitch that caused Brock's Onix to not be able to touch a Metapod. Does not work with Caterpie or Butterfree, nor the Weedle family. Something interesting that I wasn't sure if people knew about and thought could make for a funny comic if you ever had the time.

Nver heard of that. Sadly, I refrain from doing strips about obscure glitches since they're not common knowledge, but that's quite a tell nonetheless. Heh.

I used it so many times =w= Was the only way I could get through with Charmander. Yea I there's Mankey, and the two Nido's learn Double Kick but back then I had a baaad habit of spamming my starter in all battles Though the habit did one time result in my Venasaur starter beating Blane. Fun stuff. But ja it does seem it's obscure. Bulbapedia doesn't seem to know about it and they should know just about ALL OF THEM. Maybe there was something weird going on with my copy of it I dunno lol. Sadly my copy no longer works TTwTT
