Description
Tutorial in case some don't knowDO TAKE NOTE:
FAQ #332: Does deviantART have a feature that will automatically watermark my deviations?
"This option will be presented to you only if you change the Display Options field to one of the smaller resolutions available in the submission/editing process, allowing you to add a watermark or not.
Images which are kept at 'original size' will not be processed by us and will not present the option of automatic watermarking on your images."
Also, if you submit your image under certain categories, or your image type (jpeg, png etc) is different from the usual, the watermark option will not appear.

you should check the category you submit it to, your file type and the size of your image!

what is the "usual" image type? I don't see why the images I upload don't have the watermark option. They're all JPEG. The option shows up on some of my images, but not others.

bunnydesuuu In reply to 0rangeToast [2016-10-01 17:28:19 +0000 UTC]
Jpeg is one of the "usual" ones. Usual would include Png and Jpeg. Jpg is similar but sometimes it doesn't work.
The size of your image matters, as well as the category you submit it to. Some category are such that watermark isn't normally used.

check the size and file type that you are submitting, as well as the category you're submitting it to!

alright
and isn't there one about letting you download a picture on the mobile app?

bunnydesuuu In reply to WorriorCatAJ [2016-10-01 17:25:58 +0000 UTC]
I'm not familiar with the mobile app (last time i heard, the mobile app sucked) but on computer there is a button on the right that allows you to download, but ONLY IF the artist allows you to do so (of course, you can just right click and save, but that's not being nice to the artist!!)

Ahh ok
The mobile App is "ok" at some times, it lags a lot tho
On the mobile app there's a little button that says download, you can turn it off for a drawing when your submitting art on your phone, but I never noticed the same button on the computer. I'll have to look at it next time

It's weird how I was about to upload something with a watermark, and this checkbox wasn't there, so I search, find this, then reload the upload page and now it's there... xD

Do you think it would be a good idea to watermark a cosplay photo?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
bunnydesuuu In reply to Emeraldan [2016-08-01 12:22:22 +0000 UTC]
I would advice you to put a small one made by yourself (like a simple username) somewhere in the picture so that the picture will not get stolen. However, using dA's large watermark might destroy the beauty of the original picture so I will advice against that

do check the size of your image as well as the file type. The folder you submit it to matters too

can i make own watermark ? and how ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
bunnydesuuu In reply to vinebru [2016-06-22 10:13:10 +0000 UTC]
you can make your own with any art program that you use and put it on your work yourself. To know how to make one you should google for tutorials, it's pretty simple

No you don't need to make your own if you're using the dA one.
Try waiting for it to load, maybe it'll appear. If not, ask the dA staffs

Its annoying because I only post that size now...

Im trying to make some money by selling my artwork as a digital copy(premium content). But eventho i checked the "add watermark", there's still no watermark on my artwork. I do have my own logo as my watermark at the bottom corner of my artwork but the reason i wanted dA's watermark is because people can easily download my artwork without purchasing it (right clicking and save image). Why doesn't the watermark show on my artwork? How big should my artwork be? I've tried everything. The current size is 1024px. Please help
p.s Im not desperate for money, im 16 years old and im trying to get money on my own to buy stuff i need without constantly asking my parents.
I'll also donate half the money of each purchase to charity (most likely foundations regarding saving our Earth)
p.p.s Am i doing this wrong? Can i not sell digital prints on dA?

bunnydesuuu In reply to Valkyrie47 [2016-05-03 12:18:41 +0000 UTC]
Sorry, I am unsure as to why the option did not appear to you. It might work if you change your file type to jpeg or jpg!
If not, I recommend you enlarging your watermark and placing it (with light opacity) over your artwork just like how the dA watermark would look like. The premium content option (which you enabled) allows you to attach the original, non-watermarked copy should someone purchase it, so watermarking the displayed picture is ok.
On a side note, as another fellow teenager, I advise you not to expect too much from the premium content option on dA. Not many people are active on dA, and many who do are also teenagers (if not younger ( ) who do not have/cannot afford simply buying things from the premium content as they do not have the points or money. I advise you either open up commissions and draw for others, or simply just draw for leisure and find other means to earn money to ease the monetary burdens of your parents.

What if I submit my artwork for printing option (without my watermark, only my signature is there, and my own little logo) and I want DA watermark on preview option, but it doesn't show there. I have managed to upload only one drawing for print which got that DA preview watermark. This kind of watermark option shows in the section where you can edit your print options (it says there that it is visible only on preview). I'm not sure if this option showed on pic above, when you upload your artwork and click "Add watermark" is that same option - namely, if I click that, will my prints have DA watermark? Once I have clicked it and it was visible in edit section on prints where you can adjust your drawing. To whom to turn to in order to solve this problem? Thank you in advance!
