Unable to run the portable version of gimp, I installed that version on Ubuntu. For this the program windows are not in the style of the old tutorial, especially in the style of windows!The interface of this Ubuntu 12 differs a little bit from Windows, but you will not have trouble finding commands on Windows.
And the gimp version of this is the new 2.8, but even for this you will have trouble!

I don't like the new version of gimp :S
I would like to make other tutorials about Gimp but I don't know if use Gimp 2.4 (that I prefer...) or the new gimp 2.8 ... I don't know I many people still use the old version :S

I use the 2.6 version now but not because I like just because I can't install the 2.8 without broke my system...
I prefer the beta (2.7) because have the best of 2.8 (saving, one window mode, and those things) but don't have the new bars of the tools (of the 2.8) that I don't like at all...
I think not many people is using 2.6 now (just in old computers and people don't like the new things)....
