Description
The closest thing to what "A Funny Story" would look like if it ended up on TV.Kinda inspired by Nick Cross's stuff. (Go see his stuff!).
Actually a continuation of (both from the same scene)
SYNOPSIS TIME:
The scene opens akin to film-noir, with Bucker Roo (or "Buck" for short) over here stepping into the screen (meaning something cool's gonna happen-- I mean, look. Lens flares)!
...And just when he's about to say something, Bucker Roo takes a quick glance from left to right. His expression suddenly changes (as he realises something).
"Now, where was I off to agaaain...?", his voice fading out in a breathy tone.
His face leaves a blank expression. ...And then the scene dissolves into this-- which is really what the world around them really looks like-- and Bucker Roo heads off to work.
Everything done in Paint Tool SAI
background and art by 2012
Bucker Roo too.

"Why is he walking soo hard?
Huh? The point you've italicized is vague. :T What's so hard about his walking? This is an in-between in a walk cycle, specific to Bucker Roo.
And also, he pauses in-between the walk. The expression in his face with eyes looking at the sky should show he's in thought. For him to stare directly towards the screen, at the sides of him or stare at the direction in front of him may imply something else.
The description in this artwork should explain what Bucker Roo's pondering on about.
Sorry if that sounded like a lecture. The brashness is an after-effect of practising essay writing for exams! :<

You sure are getting good at writing whole exam pages in one single comment.

...Sounds like you missed the point, but okay. I guess you got it anyhow. :/
(And if that wasn't clear enough... The point was NOT writing exam pages.)

Great job with the background art! You always do an amazing job with background art, it's pretty much one of the reasons why I find your cartoons so amazing.
Do you think you'll ever attempt animation and post it on your Deviant Art? I've only seen you do one animation.

As in a style guide? Like if you were making a pitch bible?

Actually, I think my gallery (since May 2012) could be considered concept art for a pitch since I think they explore possible ideas for characters and skits for a show.
But, oh YES.
Well I'm kinda attempting to do that. Freelance Animation is interested in seeing a pilot (at least an animatic) from me + they have contacts to other studios outside of NZ, so I'll see how that goes.
This'll get better due time. On a side note, if there's one thing I want to do to fully complete the art style, it's have Nick Cross (who's worked on Ren & Stimpy as BG artist and a big inspiration to me) work as an art director for the show! This part of the comment is in sub font since I think it's kind of unrelated.

That sounds great. I'd love to watch it.
As a wannabe screenwriter, I'm contractually obligated to remind you that the screenplay is the most important part of any kind of production.
I'm glad to hear you already talked to people in the bussiness. I hate those guys who think someone is gonna -discover- them.
Are you making this on your own? Or do you have a small team to work with?
(I guess you've read Joe Murray's book. That's prolly the only animation book I have about making a pitch bible for animation. :S)

The clarity in your drawings is amazing O_O
I love how smooth and dark the lines are, and how colourful everything is in contrast.

Eeeh, I actually took the music down since I thought people didn't like it (based on the fav to views ratio-- I actually saw it increase after that :c).
But yeah, I really want the world around my characters to be fun to look at-- I mean those warm+cool neutral colors with weird shades of green-yellow, burgundy, desert sand (an actual color), majorelle blue & oxford blue (for the windows) and slate grey for example really help bring the harmony in the scene-- regardless of the escalating rates of cartoon violence happening in their area.
Also, the clouds are painted in a way that retains form and fluffiness! Haha, thanks for the compliment. I think I said enough. c:
btw, I did not remember the millions of colors visible to the human eye. That was Wikipedia helping me figure out the names of the colors chosen.
