So the one on bottom (Fogdrift) has already sliced open Hawkshine's throat, and that weakens him. Fogdrift uses this to his advantage and shoves his paw into the already bleeding wound and tears it out from the inside with his claws, ripping through the veins, muscles etc. With his other paw, he claws through Hawkshine's eyes, blinding him.

Hawkshine dies instantly and falls on top of Fogdrift, his blood pooling onto the gray tom. Fogdrift suddenly realizes what execrable murder he's committed, and punishes himself by shoving a plant called 'Giant Hogweed' into his eyes, permanently blinding himself so he knows the pain Hawkshine went through for that short moment. (which can actually cause blindness, google it)

Fogdrift comes back to his Clan, his eyes burning and swollen, and after a moon of recovery, receives the name 'Fogeye' by the current leader Foxstar and spends the rest of his life in the elder's den.
