The star of the picture for me was the woman on the far left with the highlighted hair, looking sad or pensive. Wonderful shot.

That's the part that got my attention, too. In a sea of busy people that girl and the boy in the flannel opposite her just right of center share a similar sad look. It makes for wonderful contrast.

Most probably pensive, standing and waiting makes you zone out, showing sadness is a bit more embarrassing.

Everyone's expressions show a different emotion, almost what they're thinking. My favorite is the woman on the right, clutching her work and her phone, smiling a little to herself... I wonder if she's thinking about someone special?
Well done in capturing this perfect moment; it's so rare to see when we look at somebody else - we always seem to miss that 'split-second-thought' as it crosses someone's mind - such a sad thing, but you've managed to capture lighting in a bottle; and in turn we get to see her smile like this and wonder who she's thinking about. It's right there and it's perfect.
(That, or she noticed you were taking a photo, and got embarrassed.)

Yes, that woman definitely brings something to this photo! I was going to photograph the two men on the left but when I saw her I included her in the frame. I don't think she noticed me taking the photo. I think you're right that she was thinking about something. And we will never know what; we can only speculate. That is the magic and beauty of this kind of photography that keeps me doing it. It's a kind of addiction!

You take such intimate photo's, do people ever get annoyed at you taking their photo? Amazing shot by the way, so interesting how most people have their head down not talking to anyone but are still being incredibly social through technology on their phones.

I have had people getting a bit annoyed, but nothing serious. Basically, some people just look away sometimes to hide their face. That's pretty much it.
