Holy heck, I may love Pearl but her design is just WAY too bright to make it glow properly.This one was a real challenge for me to draw because of how inconsistant the designs of the indigo tribe are and because I wanted the design to still reflect the design of Pearl in the end, but I think this ended up looking pretty cool!
I played a lot with the colours here before finally settling on this, I hope it worked out...
And yeah, Indigo Tribe. THis is one where I may not have been sure from the beginning, but I basically knew very soon that this was gonna go to Pearl.
Even from a design aspect it's rather fitting, since she has the lightest dress out of all the crystal gems and wields a staff just like the people of the tribe.
And with how much she cares for Steven, even if she doesn't let it on all the time, I thought compassion was neat for her, at least neater than pretty much everything else^^
But all in all these are first and foremost about design. And I am happy with that^^

Compassion is more "doing things others want, out of empathy" more than "doing things others want, out of love," which is totally Pearl's thing.

Thank you! Yeah I agree with you that Pearl is a perfect fit for Indigo. I think there is a lot of hidden compassion in her, that we might not always see, but that's definetely there, especially for Steven and Connie.

Oh, definitely. She may be kinda stuffy/uptight, but that doesn't at all mean she doesn't care.Β In fact, when it comes to Steven, a lot of the uptightness stems from the fact that she DOES care (i.e., being protective of Steven going into danger, for example.)

Getting comments like your is worth a lot more than getting favorites, but I'm not gonna complain about getting them if you want to xD

That is actually a really good point, I hadn't thought about it like this before, although I was considering her for star sapphire too.
Here's the trouble though: You could reasonably make EVERY SINGLE ONE of the crystal gems a star sapphire, and while I am planning to do a compilation pic of them AS Star Sapphires at a later point, this series mostly has the goal to draw every single one of the lantern corps (excluding white and black for now) as Gems. And I felt that Pearl best reflected the indigo light of compassion and fit the design best, with Rose Quartz being the Star Sapphire (That I will draw last in the series cause I dread drawing her locks xD)
But thanks a lot for your comment, I really apprechiate having other people who are actually fans of both Steven Universe and Green Lantern talking to me about this stuff in the comments and debating about it!
And again, you really have a point there. But I'm planning to do some alternative versions of gems anyway, so just wait and see^^
