How to - Install Leopard on VMWare Download & Burn
Download a Leopard Image like iATKOS . Burn it on a DVDCreate & Edit your Virtual Machine
Create a Virtual Machine , you must set over 3GB !Over 512MB RAM and go to edit and set up your DVD Drive.
Go to the Folder where your Virtual Machine is saved . Open the .vmx config file with Editor and delete the complete Text in the Editor and paste this in the Editor :bios.bootDelay = "5000"

BIOS Properties
a. For the 2 IDE drives you need to set 32-bit I/O to enabled.
b. The floppy disk and chip must be disabled
c. Disable all serial and parallel ports
d. Large disk mode set to other
e. Boot order to CD first then Hard drive
Installing Leopard
Now you can boot from the CD if the Timer shows up press F8 and type in : -v cpus=1
If you've made all right you will be at the Install Screen .
Open Disk Utility to create a single partition and ensure that it is MBR based. Also make sure the volume label has no spaces in it.
Back in the installer select the new volume and then "Customize" button. If you have iATKOS then select the Darwin Bootloader if you have Zephyroth select the Chipset driver and the ToH SSE3 click on Bootloader and Select MBR or GUID look fist what youve i choose MBR !
Now sit back and wait while Leopard install .
Boot from Leopard Hard Drive
Now let Leopard boot from your Virtual Hard Drive , now you will see the Grey Apple Screen if that work youre done . But there can be a few Problems like this :
- Restarting always leads to a segment fault. So shutdown and power off then start up again.
- Sometimes it just won't restart with CPU fault. Best to shutdown VMware and restart.
- Network doesn't have a MAC address. This psi probably solvable but haven't had time to finish my work on this yet.
This Problems arent fixed !

I dont get how using VMWare Workstation 7, lets me get full 1366x768 resolution, yet when i boot from a CD i burned it to, i get a kernel panic.
I used OSx86 version of iDeneb v1.4 OSX v.10.5.6.

Nice! Everything's gone well so far. I'm currently waiting for it to install, but the progress bar isn't moving anywhere, though. Will comment again if it still hasn't worked.

Yes it works. I used my Universal one. Search 10.6.2 Patched for PC UNIVERSAL on the pirate bay. It will be from cclloyd, about 300 seeds.

heyy man, i was wondering whether if you install iaktos for example, and choose the video, sound etc drivers, will they work? because im using the 10.5.5 VMWare image and the sound doesnt work, and the video drivers arnt installed, so you only get a laggy version of leopard that runs in 800x600?

i use iatkos 10.5.5 leopard disc and it worked, but resolution and 1 core cpu working problem,very slow...

I'm unable to reproduce your results.
I've set up a VM with 768MB RAM, 4GB virtual IDE hard drive, and I'm using the iATKOS_v7 ISO as my virtual DVD drive. In VMWare 6.5.3 build 185404 I get the following error message, right after entering "-v cpus=1" into the boot prompt:

There is a problem in this version of VMWare Workstation...

I know this is an old post. Could you tell me which version of VMWare Workstation you were using when you created this guest? Also, there are about a dozen additional settings in the current .vmx file which are not present in yours; I've attempted to carefully merge the settings from your .vmx file above with my own. If I attempt to use yours, as-is, I don't even get that far.

Forgot to say, that DVD burner will "inflate" that ISO file on the DVD. "i.e, you won't see a .ISO file on the DVD, instead, you'll see its contents"

I'm just thinking loud. ISO files are usual DVD or CD images, you first need to use a DVD or CD burner that can read ISO and burn it on a DVD or CD.
Can you tell me where did you get that leopard image from ?

Hello. After trying to get this to work for hours the best I've managed to do is get past the Apple logo and into the blue screen with the spinning cursor where it hangs. I had to change the OS from FreeBSD to Windows NT to get it this far.
Any ideas as to what to do now?

After replace .vmx file with above content and try to startup vmware image, I get this error:

hi,
i've burned the iAtkos 2.0i to a DVD and ran the DarwinBoot. After waiting and some text loading down the screen I either get a blue screen with the pretty cursor which gets stuck and doesn't move on; or the grey apple screen which then has a "no-smoking" sign appear.
do you have any idea what i need to do to get to the install screen?
