Up there in the rigging
in a four star gale
the wind can play havoc
with a trendy ponytail

So, I love Cap, but as I was looking at some of my main male muses I noticed a few too many of them have 'neck length, wavy'. Sure there's added bits like the scot's fringes, but other than that, I'm not pushing myself. So I decided to go ahead and revamp Cap, since Skiff and the Scots seemed to suit still. I tried a few different types of pony tails. The first one looks great from the side, but rather feminine from every other angle, simply because of my drawing style. I decided it was nice but not to be.

The middle one was suggested by an instagram friend who liked side shaves, however CartoonLover20 pointed out it was a little TOO trendy for Cap and suggested it could be a teenage hairstyle, so it's not even going to waste XD

The last one I liked the best, but needed a little tweaking.

Thanks to some good pointers from I studied ponytail dynamics and eventually settled on this c:

Now, Cap's a very busy man, and he's always been more concerned with rescues than appearance so when one day he looks in the mirror and realises it's been months since his last trim, he decides 'what the hell'. Getting a trim every 6 weeks or so is a pain anyway, he might as well let it do what it wants and tie it back.

Skiff has no qualms with his long haired bf though he does tug on it playfully quite a lot

Anchor has a ponytail too - maybe he just wanted to copy his old block

Also this doesn't affect any of my existing art because it's possible he does still trim it here and there, but from now on I'll more likely use this unless it's a pre-Capskiff piece in which case the trim stays
