I get unusually obsessed with background / minor characters sometimes and I found one that really struck me - The Pirate Queen from "Pull Up A Barrel" - spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Pira…

I know the show was trying to have all the characters reflect the main gang, like Scarfish = Patrick, Ensign = Spongebob, but a Squirrel? Why not Mrs.Puff of all characters, especially due to her flirting with Krabs XD

Well, I wasn't going to let such an opportunity go to waste! Tho I didn't really like how much she reflected Sandy, since unlike someone like the Dark Knight, she's not actually related XD So I made her a grey squirrel for starters. since I'd always assumed Sandy was supposed to be a red squirrel. I like the colour tho c: Gave her a scallop (since those are underwater birds) but obviously a parrot based one XD

Now as for a name, The Pirate Queen was a pretty bad one, so I got to thinking of Piratey names - eventually I settled on "Kitty" as a nickname - Sandy expresses a dislike of cats in one episode, and the pirate has an eyepatch. An unfortunate encounter with a land cat? Idk but it serves as a good name for me, with her original being a standard 'seaside town' name like Nelly. And also for the expression "woah nelly!"

As for the breathing underwater thing, that was incredibly odd, I'm still working on some hcs about that. I think perhaps her gold earring could be an item that allows for her to breathe underwater (Mermaid Man got a magic starfish from mermaids, so why not an earring?)

I'll work on it anyhow :3 Also I'd say for this hc, she was a bit younger than Krabs in the flashback, so although she's older now she's not quite as old as Krabs XD Maybe 30's or something? That way she can still be kick ass >: D
