Tailor's one of my favourite Smurfs but I feel so bad for him sometimes XD It seems that every episode he's in he's just being worked to the bone by entitled Smurf-holes who don't understand his hard work and effort Like damn give the guy a break-

It doesn't get much easier with my AU, he's still a hella dedicated worker XD Being a dad just kinda adds to the mix, at least whilst Diligent is still young. So don't worry Tailor! Only uhhhhhhhhh 70 or so more years of this Farmer has to get up even earlier than Tailor when the crops need tending too so Tailor definitely did a lot of the early Smurflinghood care, usually taking wee Diligent to the shop with him. Amusing as it may be, Diligent was also fascinated by his dad's fabrics so if Tailor took his eyes off him for too long Diligent would no doubt climb into the fabric box XD Or worse, one time the needle drawers - luckily Vanity happened to be in the shop at that time and was able to warn Tailor before the Smurfling hurt himself. When Diligent gets a bit older it's more manageable, and he was just so adorable pottering about the shop, fetching the correct fabrics and needles and threads and helping Tailor thread the machines etc. Sometimes he'd go with Farmer in the early mornings and help with the crops - giving Tailor a lie in. As a teen-adult Diligent is even more useful, easily able to take on whatever task his dad's need from him.

Tailor's happy, his little son/apprentice is a big help, and Tailor's not so bone tired all the time.

Still, he kinda misses the way young Diligent used to bury himself under the silk sheets and pretend to be a caterpillar cocooning himself into a butterfly.
