The dead grass feels like nettles on my pads... The air is an uncomfortable groggy weather, hot, wet, and dark. The most sunshine that hits me is the reflection from the moon, barely, when the clouds part at night. Every tree looks as if it has been either struck by lightning, burned, or attacked by many centuries of claws and teeth, though I haven't laid eyes on a physical, living being. Shadow monsters lurk everywhere around me, pulling my furs and driving me to injure myself. What have I done wrong? I don't remember anything, except for being here. I have been here for too long. I know I am not from here, that is for sure.
Ash ran, looking for familiar territory. Every day he woke up in a different place in the same world. He never actually saw things move, but he knew the trees walk and the rocks roll. Over the hills, a flash of gold and white caught his eye. Stopping, he look to the top of the ridge, and there it was. I am not alone. That is another wolf! "Aye!" Ash shouted to the moving figure. It looked over. "I am no threat, please, I want to meet you!" The other wolf slowed to a stop and stared in Ash's direction.
