Description This is not a picture, really: it's a preview rendering of a scene I'm working on for Thrilling Tales of the Downright Unusual [link]

I'm using my Kickstarter project [link] to try to launch the second stage of the Thrilling Tales site. The idea is to work on two things simultaneously: the second part of The Toaster With TWO BRAINS, on the one hand, and a new series of non-interactive stories, on the other. That's because the site needs some content that updates frequently, like a web comic, along with its big servings of interactive story.

This character, the Clockwork Book, will serve as a central element around which I can drape those linear, non-Interactive Tales.

The Book is still very much a work in progress. He's as much an installation as a character, so I'm working on him and his environment at the same time. There's more information about what the Book is and where the idea came from on my Kickstarter project's updates. The project's backers, of course, get super secret stuff that common mortals can't even dream of. Sort of thing.

Subtle? Me?

Good lord, why isn't this a DD? There is no justice in this land. Jaw-dropping. My jaw literally dropped. I bow to you, sir.

Well, thanks - but it's still a work in progress. The scene's come quite a ways since I posted this.

Is there an orange mentioned anywhere in this book?

All kidding aside, this is fantastic work as usual on your part.

Very impressive hon! I can picture him reading out a passage in an echoing, mechanical, monotone voice
