Description You know that con-clock I first posted ? Scrapped it. I redid the concept of measured time on Isse. I came across the French Republican Calendar (which I'd never seen but was eerily similar to the Issean Calendar), which lead me to the concept of Decimal Time . Though I always liked Ursula K. Le Guin's con-time in her book The Left Hand of Darkness , I didn't go through with making up anything on my own because I figured the math would be too hard. But when I can across this, I decided to go ahead with it.

Instead of a 24-hour day, Isse has a 20-hour day!

Here's the tricky part:

1 hour on Isse = 100 minutes (Issean Time)
100 minutes (IT) = 70 minutes (Earthian Time)
Thus, 1 minute (IT) = 70 second (ET)
And 1 second = .7 seconds (ET)

...yeaaaaaaah.

Anyway, the clock starts at zero (which is at the bottom, btw) and goes around in an arch to mimic the path of the sun. Also, First Hour (usually abbreviated in English as 1h) starts at what we would call 6:00 AM, more or less when the sun rises. One is that character that looks like a nine.

Ooh, very different!

It always sort of bugged me how our main number system doesn't
necessary work well with our typical time system. Like we built our
world so stronger on our base system, SI being a great example.
And yet our concept of dividing time in 60's and 12's seems to be unshaken.

I try to be different. Not always possible, but yeah.

60 ans 12s are really hard to shake from your brain.
