Description Update 8 - Added new style with a 24px Taskbar
Update 7 - Font change from Arial to SegoeUI
Update 6 - Changed the color of the taskbar text to white
Update 5 - Some people have requested that I include both the old version of Lucent (without borders) along with the new one (with borders). The old version of Lucent still has and will always have the gap at the top of web browsers because there's no way to fix that.
Update 4 - Borders are now lined up correctly for all browsers
Update 3 - Now with alternative images for the navigation buttons ( see them in the preview )
Update 2 - The small taskbar background is now fixed
Update 1 - Theme now displays under installed themes correctly as " Lucent"

My version of a minimalistic Windows 7 Style

-Winamp - Gaia 10 mod by me - Download Lucent for winamp here

FIX FOR WEIRD FIREFOX IN BORDERLESS!
For me borderless FireFox normally looks like this:
[link] (imagebanana.com)

I have tried some addons and now the browser just looks great even with borderless Theme:
[link] (imagebanana.com)

I have used the plugins GlassMyFox and Stratiform, now FF looks like a real minimalistic browser.
I have tweaked the settings a little, will show my settings with pics or i'll upload the configuration files of the addons with readme (maybe both) today or tomorrow
I recommend TBarIconRemover, too, under Windows 7 it removes the program icons on the upper left

Your theme is so great!! But there are 2 problem.
1. In Google Chrome, tab bar become this:
[link]
2. I use NetSpeedMonitor, it become strange:

This is in other theme:

1. As I said in the description, there's no way to fix chrome and firefox.
2. You are probably using the 24 pixel taskbar which would reduce the amount of space for your NetSpeedMonitior. Use one of the themes that don't have the 24 px after it and change the taskbar properties to use the small icons.

Hey dude, I followed everything exactly as you said, but when I select the theme it just goes back to windows classic. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I patched everything correctly with the UTP, no problems there, no problems with the standard aero either. Any ideas?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

C---M In reply to sturm31 [2012-09-02 18:52:39 +0000 UTC]

You need to copy both the .theme file and the folder containing the .msstyles to the themes folder. If you copied only the .theme file then it would apply the classic style of windows instead.

This VS works best with wallpapers that are darker. If your wallpaper is white then you won't see any of the buttons because they are a transparent white.

As of right now I only have taskbar icons for the few programs that I use and it's nearly not enough to release as a pack. The icons were inspired from *zainadeel and his Metro2 for Superbar icon pack which are very similar.

Have you removed the tray notification button in recent updates? I see it in the preview but for some reason it's missing from my taskbar. I love the theme, but that's a huge inconvenience for me. I've set tray notifications all to default, is there something I need to change? Using the 24px taskbar version.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

C---M In reply to SteenkyBeenz [2012-08-21 19:46:27 +0000 UTC]

The arrow button for the tray shows up on all corners of the desktop for me. Maybe your wallpaper is too bright and hides it. I don't think other people are having this problem.

Any chance you will add a 24px taskbar option?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

C---M In reply to riesza [2012-08-19 20:33:07 +0000 UTC]

I added one in the new update. You can find it by choosing to use small icons in the taskbar properties.

The full theme looks amazing, but the whites in the start menu and Explorer menus seem too bright for me. Can you darken it a little bit?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

C---M In reply to iSnipers [2012-08-17 19:59:25 +0000 UTC]

Try lowering your brightness to 50%. If that's still to bright then 45% will start to make the white darker without affecting the rest of the colors.

There's no way to fix that without making major changes to the visual style.

SOLVED IT! I've been poking around and apparently, you must have your "Show shadows under windows" turned on.

That's in Control Panel\Performance Information and Tools\Adjust visual effects.

sorry to bougther you again... but i spent the night traying to get back the yellow notification light n the taskbar and i could infd how to do it in win7 style builder...... can you point me to the direction or help me? i really wanna use this theme.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

C---M In reply to marosteeha [2012-08-13 20:29:38 +0000 UTC]

1. Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton

There is a check box called TRANSPARENTOOL under the hot tracking colors, all you need to do is check it.

2. The show desktop button is at Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBar > Basic > Show Desktop Button > Button

If you want to change it for the vertical taskbars too it's below the other one

3. The text color you wanted to change in the start menu is at Address, Breadcrumb & Search > Search > Edit > SearchEdit > TextBox > Normal Text

Changing the color in the start menu will also change the color of the text in regular windows too

marosteeha In reply to C---M [2012-08-13 23:04:21 +0000 UTC]

yup i got it.... am writing back to say i got it working, this is a bit easyer than i thought! its was just that i had the wrong softare or something, now i got it working just fine, i can see why you didnt like the orange notification thing, when you turn on the task item button and hover your mouse over it, it takes up the colour of the icon and change the button completelly.. and i dont like it, but i need the notification. so ill have to just ignore it.

again thank yo for everything, i might consider creating my own theme whenever i have time

i love this theme! if i had o suggest anything it would be minor, likethe search bar in the explorer, you could put it a bit darker, sor sorto of grey, cuz as of now it lokks like nothing is there.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

C---M In reply to marosteeha [2012-08-12 22:43:09 +0000 UTC]

I did that on purpose, it's not necessary to include a search bar because when you click the start menu it already allows you to type without you needing to select it. The light grey is the lightest color I can go to make it invisible.
