Tutorial for Apophysis. Minimum knowledge of the software required. Crackle plugin can be found inside The Aposhack Plugin Pack .In 4 days it'll be a year since I posted my first fractal!

Instead of using pre_rotate_y on xform 2, you can add a linked xform to xform 2 (Xaos tab>Right Click>Add linked transform) with linear and then rotate it freely! CHAOTICA VERSION OF THIS TUTORIAL! CHECK IT OUT!

I'm not sure why, but every time I try doing this, it never ever works 
are there other tutorials you could recommend (I tried all of yours) that I could practice more and see if I can ever get to a good result?

These are the params for the basic result of this tutorial.
My advice is to carefully read the tutorial again, check my params (paying attention to the position and scale of the triangles and the variations used)and check your params again, so you can notice the differences between them.
