The G1 pony that the G4 crowd knows the best. Everyone's favourite silly pony!G1 Applejack's personality is a little different to her G4 counterpart though. Applejack is a little clumsy. Not exactly the bad luck charm that Shady is, just rather ditzy with some klutzier moments now and then. She's a practical pony and not really that complicated. She's the kind of pony who, when something bad happens to her, will shrug it off without even really thinking about the fact that she's run into a bit of trouble. In the pilot, when Firefly crashes into her and obliterates her basket of apples she merely smiles it away. And when falling off a bridge and nearly drowning, she focuses more on how much it was to be saved by Seaponies. She's not ignorant of bad things, nor is she the kind of react overly enthusiastic about anything, she merely tends to focus on the positive. Probably a good idea considering her clumsy side.
For some reason she has a big tendancy to knock over and break fences (this is mentioned several times on her backcards, the song about her from the UK and various comics and story books). The knocking over of fences is probably due to the fact that she's not a very good jumper.

Yeah, pretty much one of the only things I knew something about from a previous pony generation. I guessed she hasn't changed that much, not even in the looks department. She seems more stubborn and grown up now in G4, but that's about it. Also, I love the expression on her face in this drawing. It's a good nervous laughter "oops" type of expression.

hmm~ It could be bacuse it's perhaps smaller than it should look from this angle, or because I've got it "closed off" with its outline

Leg looks like armor playing, it's actually really good anatomy, THAT is the problem unfortunately.
Ponies are marshmallow like. So you have a marshmallow pony with a horse leg.

Hmmm~ Personally, I prefer drawing ponies with anatomy that's a little more realistic than the show. Especially since it was the lack of that anatomy that the old shows had that almost stopped me from even watching the show all together (I really hated the stiff, made-in-adobe-flash design for all the characters)
Would you say that changes it a little bit or do you still feel it's maybe pushed a little too far?
