Description
I haven't just been making or selling pony piΓ±atas; I've also been making some forays into the world of custom retail packaging for custom pony art.The above is a photo montage for the Clousdale House, a decorative enclosure I created and marketed to help protect custom brushable ponies (although a very non-custom, non-brushable Pinkie Pie is in the picture as a random test subject).
The idea is something of a failure though, not only because it didn't sell well, but mainly because the design was a little defective... the glue used did not stick properly to the inside of the box, making it easy to pop off and look hideous. I will fix the few houses I already have made, but I probably will discontinue this product anyway since it's expensive (in time and material) to make and there's not much demand for it.
[Blindbag-sized enclosures, on the other hand, are a different story] >v>
Regarding the details of this custom box....
It's meant to piece together different architectural elements of buildings in Cloudsdale... the front offers a cool expansive window flanked by four elegant columns. In the back is a temple-style entrance with greek architectural elements, a potted [whatever it is that pegasi grow], and stairs. The house is of course course topped by clouds and a rainbow for a handle, but in between you'll see some relief art recounting an ancient tale (from cookies if you get the references). :3
Also featured is a new custom logo I created for our custom pony artwork, entitled "Your Little Custom". Expect to see this logo in many other products in the near future. ^^

:c It's a shame that this model became defective or received little to poor feedback, because I think a lot of aspects to this cloudsdale design is pretty amazing!
I think I really like the nice see-through display with the columns on both sides, it feels nicely presentable. If this model was ever improved upon, I think it'd be awesome to use for Pegasus custom ponies, or even custom ponies with greek or roman themes!

Thank you so much! ^.^
I should have expected it given it was such a new concept and the execution was a little lacking, but in fairness I thought of it FAR too late in the game (literally two weeks before Bronycon). So there simply wasn't enough time to really get it down properly, or give it the right texture and strength.
With the newer retail box ideas, I've actually invested a little more on tougher boxing materials and a more robust (and cheaper) printed surface -- coupled with other realistic packaging elements, I expect it to more closely mimic retail quality (and thus, be as much of a joy to look at as what's inside it. ^__^
In any event, I'll see what I can do to salvage the above idea... I already have two pony custom artists interested in revitalized versions of these boxes for their own customs (including their own branding). Since I don't plan on selling brushable ponies myself, I could simply act as a bulk supplier. ^^

Hi there. Thank you! ^_^
I was originally selling these for $7 a pop, but found slightly more success at $5. I wish I could drop the price down even further, but the manufacturing process IS a lot more cumbersome and expensive than with the blindbags.
I would have to redesign it slightly to strengthen the windows, but Im sure we can work out a bulk purchase arrangement if you'd like (with your branding, of course).
Id probably be your first house customer, those are some awesome customs. :3

i LOVE this idea so much. and 5$ isn't bad at all!

Vonderful. ^.^
I might send you a few samples of the current boxes, so just note me with details so I can send you one or two on-the-house (non-assembled, to make sure it's flat). Also a picture of the kind of branding you would want on the box too.
One thing I hadn't finished in time was a way to hold the ponies down to the box (so they wouldn't rattle around), but I think I have an idea for that. ^^

Sorry to hear that this idea didn't work out :/ Out of all your pony projects, is this one the first to fail?
I can still buy some boxes from you, put them together with super glue, and package my customs in them. These things are too pretty to be tucked away in some folder forever.
........it's the rainbow handle. I love it too much.

Nah, I think something else failed before (like changeable piΓ±ata faces?).
I'm definitely going to fix the boxes I have left with my own super glue, after which you can have as many as youw ant for your own brushables. ^^
But the future is definitely going to be in more elaborate blindbag houses...and yeah, I can have a Cloudsdale model for that too. ^^

Did you ever make any of changeable pinatas? I don't remember if you did.
I will buy all the boxes!
Oo~ mini fancy house.

Nah, I never did... and now they're all gone.
But the legacy lives on now in the petite paper plushies... thanks to all the tiny neodymium magnets I purchased, I can have perfectly removable accessories that snap on easily. ^^
And lol, okay. I'll sell them at army surplus prices.
