The perfect thing pony to have when you just need to get down and party softly! :3This is my third ornamental piΓ±ata in the shape of Fluttershy, everyone's favorite nature-loving pegasus. I don't think I even need to explain that "ornamental" means "no breaking" -- cause even if you tried it, you'd be instantly pummeled by a legion of angry bronies.
Fluttershy was done in a relatively short amount of time, confirming my hopes that I can have the full Mane6 done well before BronyCon. I also had a chance to experiment with new piΓ±ata making techniques to help reduce build time, improve lightness and enhance portability. Her tail and mane are detachable, opening the doors to all sorts of wonders and possibilities (although at the cost of making her slightly more delicate than the first two).
Next up on the list is AJ!

Knowing what pinatas are used for, this is EVIL!!! (But seriously great work you made here. Though I would change the eyes and mouth to give Fluttershy a sad and scared "Please don't hurt me!" look on her face. lol)

Eventually I changed the name of these two paper plushies, because everyone pretty much reacted the same way upon seeing these.
The newest generation of Fluttershy paper plushies do have a very cute expression, btw.

Well the large paper plushies have been discontinued due to poor sales and fairly high shipping costs, but the petite paper plushies are definitely still on sale and selling like hotcakes...

Good news, then! Derpy is scheduled to be made right after Rainbow Dash, and she herself follows Rarity (who I'm working on right now).
After Derpy we have Trixie, Octavia and then my adorable Violet, in case you're also wondering. ^^
And piΓ±atas aren't hard, they're a very accessible art form actually. That's why I won't really charge too much for commission pieces (relatively-speaking, anyway). ^^

And nope, these paper plushies are essentially glorified paper crafts so no need to go crazy with pricing. Only a Celestia or Luna could end up being very expensive, mainly because of their size. ^_^

I think between my DA submissions and the EQD Custom Compile posts, we've only repeated the word "ornamental" about 50,000 times. XD
Of course, even if you were a sick puppy and wanted to hit her, that won't be an easy task anyway. I built these things like tanks.

They still hold candy of course, but they're primary purpose is to function as "paper plushies" -- maybe not as resilient as a real plushie, but they're easier/faster/cheaper to make and just as soft to the touch. ^.^

So sweet! I think this is my favorite one. I want to hug it so badly <3 She looks so fuzzy! She actually looks fuzzier than the other pinatas. Why is that? Is it due to the color of the tissue paper? It's not a bad thing :3

She's actually my favorite too now, although it's really thanks to the other two since they were the prototypes, whereas Fluttershy swings closer to a final product. ^^
On the other hoof, Pinkie and Twilight have WAY stronger tails, lol....
As for the extreme fuzziness, I would say it's definitely the colour used, plus the slightly smaller trim, plus the natural lighting in this pic (these were taken during daytime hours). Or it could just be because she's Fluttershy, so we instinctively assume anything about her is warm and fuzzy, lol XD
Smash comments are done 40%, so I think we're definitely making a impact there! Woohoo! ^v^

She is fuzzy and warm! That means you got this down to the last detail and made Fluttershy very Fluttershy-y.

Pinkie and Twilight's tails are held to the bodies by a strong tie -- so while they're technically detachable, they're a huge pain to put back on plus you risk tearing something in the process.
[in addition to that, Twi's tail is reinforced with cardboard so it's stronger albeit heavier]
In contrast, Fluttershy's lightweight tail is held together by velcro -- pretty strong velcro, but still velcro so I might advise against dancing with her, lol.

Rarity's tail is the funnest to make! Even make her tail out of clay, it's fun~ These accessories were a great idea. Damn it, I wish I knew what it was ( >.< ) Good thing you make these pinatas pretty quickly. We won't have to wait so long to see what awesomeness you'll make.
Yeah, best not to risk the ponies' flanks. They need them in order to have those cute tails! I didn't know Velcro would work. Wow. I thought the tails would be a little too heavy for that. I need to touch this ponies so I know what they truly feel like! You think you'll have all of the Mane 6 done soon?

But the I never made a cannon/television/bumblebee/book/waterbucket/bacon piΓ±ata before, so it's not like I need precedent. Just a lot of craftiness [pun intended]. ^___^
lolol, I figured you probably had practice with that already. In my case, probably the same posterboard material I used to make Fluttershy's tail would need to be used for Rarity too. It just needs to be angled properly to ensure it curls into that drill shape properly. ^^
I'm VERY tempted to give you a clue at least. ^^
I guess I can say is that it's probably the biggest accessory of them all... ^^

And Twilight's tail probably would have destroyed any kind of Velcro used, which is why I switched to ultra-lightweight materials for Fluttershy tail. Thankfully, didn't have to worry about the mane so much since I have good ol' gravity to help keep it in place. ^^
And while they're not exactly as tough as plushies, I reckon they feel a little like one. That's why I keep saying these should be treated more as paper plushies rather than "ironic" piΓ±atas.
Now, if all goes well I reckon I might have all of them ready by end of March or beginning of April. The only stumbling block is that I have various ideas for accessories for Rainbow Dash, so really not sure which ones to pick.
Then after the Mane6 are done, I'll likely do Derpy and Trixie and Octavia.

Nope... I haven't done piΓ±ata before this in over six years... and those were the big beatable types. Of course the last one I made... a giant bowling pin for a bowling alley party... was a little too well-built too...
It took the kids 48 swings to cause a dent in it, and the adults another 20 swings before they got tired and just cut it open. Many egos were burst that day... XD
Awww... you didn't guess it yet? That's okay, it won't be too long before you see it. When you do, it's gonna rock your world... pun intended... ^^
lol, well in fairness their frills can certainly rip if manhandled too much. But as long as the playtime is measured, I can see these being used as makeshift toys, especially since repairing ripped frills can be a pastime in itself. ^^

Thankfully, I already have them ready... in fact, as part of my initial investment, I bought a whole boatload of colours and styles to have at the ready. My top cabinet is literally a rainbow of colours.... maybe I can send you a picture via email?

Speaking of candy, I actually went off to buy Fluttershy's today. Sadly, I had to drop some of my best ideas because they didn't come individually-wrapped -- aside from trust issues, it's also a hygiene issue too, which is why all my candy has to come individually wrapped. The only exception would be toys, which she has quite a few of. :3

Oh now, haven't you ever played doctor? Sad at first, true, but makes you feel good inside once they're all better. In many ways it's a little easier to fix than plushies, which require a little more expertise plus materials that may not always be available.

fufu,.. well the reason I don't downright call these "paper plushies" (despite being tempted to do so) is because I still want to retain that nice cultural aspect too. Seeing what's inside the piΓ±ata is half the fun, and we can have TONS of fun with pony-specific treats!

Except the problem with "ornamental" is that it almost feels like you can't touch them, that they have to go behind bullet proof glass on a pedestal. When in fact you can play with them a little. :3
