Description Here’s my new picture trying to fake e-on Vue render and I’m really proud of it.

It’s using David Brinnen grass technic to cover the field (made with bryce trees). Hills are covered by six differents species of special hemlock using instacing lab.

I’ve also use several xfrog trees and flower to compose the scene. Hay bales from share cg.
Vosgian house in the background mixed modeled with wings3d and Bryce. Rendered at 64 rays per pixel with 4 rays depth, T.A with boost light on and depth of field effect. Cloudscape by David Brinnen.

Little post work in photoshop.

One more time thanks Aron.
I'm already trying Vue since this week and that's really an incredible software. I'm learning step by step because it has got so much function. For the moment I'm learning terrains functions and I have got more and more improvement compare to Bryce.

Sounds like you having fun Could be a bit confusing at the begining but learning curve is short in Vue

Yes Aron, very different than Bryce.. I have buy a big book to learn vue, very documented. I have also a DVD with 12 hours of formation, I am learning slowly but surely.

Thank you! One week to build, spending 1 hour each evening and 3 days to render on the old Bryce 7 engine.

Hi there ! You know Mark .... You do Most incredible images with a incredible amount of efforts. All your gallery is just amazing . But i seriously think you could do so much more better and faster with blender .. witch its free ... And now is better than ever... even better than many comercial engines.. blender can be better than Vue itself if you want ... Iv been working with Vue and Bryce since before 2000 and now 15 years after im shifting more and more to the atonishing capabilities of blender that have a larger degree of solutions and can make worflows much faster than any other programs ... once you Learn Blender you will see that it has 2 Engines The Blender Internal that is much like Bryce But faster and Cycles That is a PhotoRealistic Amazing Render ... ANd you have many other free engines as External renderer of choiçe as luxrender, yafaray, mitsuba even the now free Pixar renderman www.blender.org/download/exter…

You can check blender Artists Community to see what everybody is doing out of blender blenderartists.org/forum/forum…

As you already have the vision and resources and some time ...
Blender Its a Most ... You SHould try it one of this days.

There are no many blender Landscapers as you yet.
Im positivly Sure you will blast as a Blender artist !

Best regards. And Good luck.

Hi Ruben! Thank you so much for your nice comments! Well how can I start.. I don't know if I've to produce a lot of effort with bryce, let me explain. Since 2013, I have work hard on a simple concept : making some trees, shrubs, grass, vegetation library.

Now that I have got it, I just have to build my scene with some terrains then cover them with Davids grass recipe and then come the time put some trees, shrubs, flowers here and there.

I know that blender is a thousand faster and better than Bryce and by the past, I have allready try to work with another software (terragen). I'm not afraid about learning a new renderer but I have not that much time in my own life to learn something new for the moment.

Bryce is "obsolete" in some case but I've got the skill to produce a picture each day (if I could work on it each day) but that's not my goal.

However, thanks for your suggestion, I know now that there is some places for landscapers on blender and that's a good new!

Best regards Ruben and see you soon.

HI THERE MARC !

Thanks so much for your kindest comment . Inspite the Fuzzy Subject.

Anyway ! I took the oportunity and expanded myself Elsewere about this subject ....
WIth Indeep step by step images examples and even videos to Explain Better what im talking about Fully ...

Might be Interesting somehow You can Follow up All i think fully and in deep here :  soulsshine.deviantart.com/jour…

That Said ....

You are a atonishing artist .
And the Real Example that REAL ART is not the SOftware but The Artist !

I Wish you the best good luck with all you have to do ... be with Bryce ...
Or Be with a More Updated and Modern 64Bits Full Threaded  BRYCE that is Carrara
Or with the Vue + Modo + Octane .. That can be the Free BLENDER Just alone

This days Open Source is sure getting stronger than all commercial Schemes ...
That is for sure !

MY VERY BEST REGARDS !

Well what can I say, Marco? Bravo!
Your work has always inspired me to new feats! It looks like a photo. Excellent composition and artistic taste, beautiful colors.
And now my questions.
How did you do the stubble of mown wheat on the terrain of the second plan? This texture, or ...?
What is the size of the file?
What is the render time?
Is there an image of a large size?
___

By the way, I've seen this work in DAZ. And I also made a picture on this subject, though simpler. She expects to render. I will upload it as soon as it is ready.

Hi Alex! Thank you so much for your constructive comment. Well, you know, I think that we're on the same way when it's time to talk about landscape research with Bryce and we both inspire each other.

The stubble of wheat on the terrain is made by using David technic, there's a video about making grass recipe by using bryce trees, you can watch it here : youtu.be/19hltxY1zs0

The file size is "only" 481 mb and it "only" takes 2,9 gb in the software.

Render time with this setting and at this size : about 3 days and a half.

Yes, there is going to be a very large size image of this picture, my computers will render it when the thaï project will be finish.

Looking forward to see your work on the same subject, I'm totally sure that it's going to be an other beautiful artwork!

Cheers!

Thank you, Mark. I have not seen this lesson, although such manipulation Bryce tree is well known to me. For example, here slepalex.deviantart.com/art/Po…
But, alas, the power of my computer is not enough to cover second plan so many clones of the tree.
I did a stubble wheat in the second and third plan using the texture. Now there is 84% of the rendering of the scene. Soon I will upload it.

c-ramgfx In reply to slepalex [2015-05-06 19:00:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes I understand alex. However, my bryce "grasstrees" that is covering my scene is only 15000 polygons. Instancing them is making bryce quite slow on my 8 cores i7 and I usually have to hide them by using "show as box" function in the attribute object. Don't forget that bryce is using one thread when we talk about working (not rendering). Even with one core overclocked at 4ghz it's responding slowly. Sometimes I'm waiting one or two minutes selecting an object at the end of a project.

I'm waiting for your new image impatiently.

slepalex In reply to c-ramgfx [2015-05-06 22:51:31 +0000 UTC]

Such exactly the problem I also decide! "Show as box" I shall also apply. A complex scene even save 2 - 5 minutes.
