Quasi cautiously crept his way over to where the she—wolf rested, fighting himself internally over what he should do at that moment; should he have already announced his presence to wake her? Should he wait until he got close enough to her and nudge her awake? But if he were to announce himself by the entrance, what if she wouldn’t have heard him? Then he would absolutely have to get close to her right? His pelt started to burn at the thought of it. Oh Fire, what should he do?—
Upon his mind being presently absent, he didn’t realize he was already getting very close to her, and through the foggy haze of draining starvation and heavy sleep, she only could imagine that a very dangerous threat was creeping up on her to attack while she rested and immediately swiveled her head around to meet it. But upon seeing it was only him— who froze up and went stock still at her reaction— she relaxed instantly with relief and exhaustion. It took a lot to ignore the way the cave had started to spin around her, but she willed herself to keep composed and greeted the young Omega with a warm (yet tired) smile.
He started to burn again, but he focused solely in on how he could tell she was slightly dizzy with the way her body slightly lolled one way to another and desired only to see her well.
“Woah, hey, Brook. Sorry, did I startle you?” Quasi managed cooly through the prey still in his mouth, ignoring the protestant pang of hunger that the damned squirrel’s delectable tangy blood had drawn. She smiled warmly again, her lolling finally stopped as she was finally able to lay still and upright. Just seeing her smile was enough to quash, not only his own lingering hunger, but also quash his attempt at keeping cool and composed in an effort to not look like a swooning idiot…
