Quasi shook out his pelt and started after his friends. He stepped into the cold darkness and walked towards the blinding light at the end of the tunnel.
When he steeped back out into the warmth, he blinked his eyes back into adjusting to the sunlight again and took in the sight of their temporary safe haven. There weren’t very many of them to begin with, and the many members that were with them before had decidedly split off to find a permanent home for themselves away from his pack here. Their main complaint was how close they were to the pedigree kingdom, but decided to go find a permanent home to hunker down in that was in the same vicinity of the dogs they hated. A bit redundant if you asked him, but he felt the reason for their decision was because they were already too weak to carry on journeying with his pack to another unknown destination to call their “home”. He couldn’t blame them for not sticking with the plan, almost all the pack here were hungry or pretending they weren’t because of pride. They couldn’t hope to make it over the mountains at the state they were in! Which was why Quasi knew they had to stay and fight to have a home here, where the prey was plentiful and the greenery was thriving. The only issue was, the Pedégrian mutts believed they had a stake and claim on practically all the land from the sea to the mountains! Far as he was concerned, the only territory they had ownership of was the land behind those damn castle walls. Anything that was natural on the outside should have been fair game.

Quasi watched his friends split off in different directions of the camp, and he took particular notice of Screech bounding off towards the corner of camp where the prey they were capable of catching was housed. The only things that were there were smaller prey like rabbits, birds, and other pitiful vermin. He knew that had to change…
