Woo!Didn't think I'd get this finished tonight. Well I timed myself and it took approximately 2-3 hours. A smidge annoyed that the shadows have blotted out most of the shading work that I'd been so pleased with.
Anyway, this is my half of an art trade with drawing Hartly and Jezzabell, who belongs to . The former was incredibly fun to draw, and not as complicated as you might think. Then again, I have had prior experience with multi-limbed creatures - my fishlike species, the Icthyans, being one of 'em.
I just hope they're not too out of character, hur.

... There is something incredibly endearing about this, though I couldn't necessarily articulate what it is. That might be because it's strung about there in the nonverbal cues and body language, but there's a pleasant almost familial affection there that makes me d'aaawww a wee bit on the inside.
The pose is dynamic without being in your face or entirely reliant on action to depict strong feeling, but it's not sedentary, either. I like the effect that it has on the eye, and on the moment. Rather than a photo, a moment suspended, this one seems ready to continue and expand more like a movie- much like your sketch with Bubbles.
As far as anatomy goes, I have to say you're in the clear! Body types and anatomy needed to take into account there are indeed taken into account, and everything seems to be in it's proper place as far as I can tell. The faded, hard to see shading works here because the blurr of rain can have just that effect...
All the same, more contrast would have accentuated things in a lovely manner, particularly under the makeshift "tent" there. In other words, I back up Mizu entirely, mmyep. Well done, and with enough charm I can't help but sticking it as a favorite. Very well done, over there!

Hartly is a Muse, a alien sent to the earth to inspire humanity, there are all sorts of muses about, and Hartly here is the Muse of indulgence, he makes people want to have the finer things in live, and indulge in them even tho their sense tell them no. Tho the only human he doesn't have his fun with is Jezzie, their like "MOFG BUDDIES!"

nope :3. He has a hard time manipulating her (or other children) mostly becasue he relates with kids more me thinks. Adults tend to be his targets

If you wanted the shading to stand out more, you could up the contrast on that layer a bit. Even with a rainy sky, I still think it would look okay.
Hehe, the big guy's in an interesting position. Those are a lot of arms to keep an eye on if you don't want your cookies snatched... not that they're likely still dry anyway
