This is going to sound outlandish, but since I downloaded and installed this script, which I absolutely love, I've been having some issues with my monitor. You know how the screen goes from black to white when the script runs? When my monitor goes into standby, when I bring it back up, instead of either a black background or the wallpaper I happen to be using, it's white. You think I'm nuts, huh?

CabinTom In reply to TearsAndThunder [2007-11-04 13:40:23 +0000 UTC]

You mean in the background of the fractal itself? If so, the script is supposed to change the fractal's background to white. Or do you mean your actual background? 'Cause the script absolutely shouldn't affect anything outside of Apo.

TearsAndThunder In reply to CabinTom [2007-11-04 19:47:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes, the background of the fractal itself and I know it's supposed to do that. But honestly, since I started using it...it's weird, Tom! Would where it's located make a difference?

CabinTom In reply to TearsAndThunder [2007-11-04 19:54:06 +0000 UTC]

It shouldn't... I have no clue what would be wrong...

Do you have the latest beta, 2.07?

CabinTom In reply to TearsAndThunder [2007-11-04 20:23:19 +0000 UTC]

Yep! It works for 2.06 as well. Did you happen to download anything else around the same time?

Yes, now that you mention it. Google Earth. Thank you very, very much, Tom. I was about to roll everything back. I hope that's what's causing this and it's only a matter of uninstalling it. Most of the time the only way I can get it back is to shut my system down from the power button, and that's not too cool. Then when it boots back up, I get the white screen, a black screen, another white screen, another black screen, and finally my welcome screen.

Oh, and by the way? You know how you mentioned you've removed your resources section? By that you meant, scripts and such? Via your journal.

Yes, via my journal. They're all still in my gallery, it's just the direct links to them from my main page that have been removed.

Well, uninstalling Google Earth didn't help. I can't imagine what's causing this. I love your scripts by the way. I wanted to ask how your volunteer gig went? And I'm glad you're feeling better; lots of folks came down with it at about the time you did. It missed me though!

It went well, until I and most of them got busy then it fell apart. Besides, I got a lot better at troubleshooting on my own.

When you only have yourself to depend on, one does tend to get good at that sort of thing!

I got a handle on my monitor problem finally. After uninstalled Google Earth which didn't fix the problem, I simply adjusted my power setting in Windows to never turn the monitor off...laughing!! It sure was weird.

well shoot, that looks awesome! I have a bit of a suggestion; since this is so obviously stamped with your name, maybe a new DA ID would be cool to use this for too... Either way, awesome work as usual.

Just keep trying to decipher what each line of code does, and you'll be up and running better than even you thought possible sooner than you'd expect.
