lol I started this and then *m-t-copyright beat me to it....at least for the first page. is doing an expression challenge where you draw 55 different expressions with one of your characters. I think for mine I'm going to change my character for each page because I wanted to practice drawing other characters. For the first one of course I had to do Caden. As you can see from MT's, it's the same expressions. I think this is really fun to do and deffinitely good practice to express an emotion with face and body language. I know most of these are bust shots but I tried using the shoulders to help portray the feeling as well. I think more people should do this. The next one I'm going to do is my cat boy character Rhys....but I realize that he probably looks like Jak. XD lol Oh well. We'll wait and see. Might scrap this later on.Related content

! Wow, I'm glad to see somebody getting some use out of the list, and so quickly too! I like these, my favourites are definetly pouty and embarassed. The body language with the shoulders is well done, good job!

lol MT Copyright did them as well. She actually managed to get hers up here before I did. lol I'm working on another page though. I started it last night so it should be interesting to see how this one turns out. But it is a lot of fun, and I get to experiment with the different expressions. Haven't really tried a whole lot of them, so there's a first for everything. lol Are you going to do any?

Orly now, I shall have to go check them out too then. But another page already? You're really very quick, I'm impressed!
Yup, I'm doing the challenge too, seems silly otherwise. I've only got "happy" down though, and even then it's sorta... neutral happy :/ Remark, I'm slow doing waist ups and I've randomly decided to give my subject a different outfit for every emotion, although I'm afraid it my sidetrack from the actual point of the challenge. We'll see I guess! But yes, I haven't ever really done a lot of the expressions on the list either, so it's actually a fun challenge

lol Well I'll look forward to see what you have done. And yeah, I guess I do work quick. lol They're not very big pictures but when I'm bored and need to draw, it's something to do.
lol

Pouty's my fav; it's clear, obvious and something I imagine on Caden's face a lot Dealing with Jak, who can blame her!

lol Too true. She just had that expression on her not to long ago in the rp we're doing right now. lol Though Jak seems to be nicer in this rp, so it doesn't happen a lot. lol

"bored" looks more day dreamy than bored and "tired" looks bored. . . for bored, keep the same expression but tilt the head up so she's looking at you sideways, maybe put her hand against her face, that's a pretty typical bored/your wasting my time expression and for tired, try a "just woke up" expression, like w/eyes half closed and darker shading under the eyes and messy hair. . . that'll be more indicative of tiredness than a yawn b/c people yawn all the time, even when they're not tired

Thanks. Again it's all practice but I do appreaciate your comment. ^_^ Maybe next time I'll try some of your suggestions. I did find that one a little hard to do, drawing someone looking bored. I should have added the hand. >_>; lol Though I thought the tired one was pretty good. I did try to add bags under her eyes but I guess it was hard to see.

a lot of times, it all depends on how something is shaded, sometimes an expression can change when shading is added or taken away

This is really good! I really like the style you have here, an interesting character.
You did completely wonderful with some of the expressions (my personal favorites: Sarcastic, Pouty, and Boastful). Some of them seem a bit off though:
--The "Surprised" and "Shocked" seem really similar, especially because they are right next to each other. "Shocked" seems pretty on-the-dot, but the surprised could be tweeked in some way I think.
--"Calm" seems kind of moody actually. I guess, personally, I'd expect a bit more of a relaxed or even slightly pleased expression. It's you're interpretations though!
--And "Confused" looks kinda like they're annoyed. I think it's normally depicted with a tilted head and closed/pursed (I think that's the right term) lips. But again, your own interpretation. I'll be quiet now, hope you don't take what I said too hard, just my opinions.

No thank you! I completely understand what you mean. Again I need practice because with most of the pictures I draw, it's always the basic emotions or expressions, always happy and all that jazz. That's why I wanted to do this, to get practice. Thank you again for your input though! I'm actually surprised and happy because you maybe on of the first people to actually give me some form of constructive criticism on my work. I rarely get that. *sweatdrop*

Well, I understand the need for constructive critisism, trust me- no one hardly ever gives me decent suggestions on my works. I just didn't want to be too harsh or opinionated because there's a very thin line.
And I'm feeling very. . . talky and commenty.
You're very, very welcome hun.

Not at all! I don't think you were harsh at all. You were very nice about it and I liked it.

Thank you. lol I know there could be some expressions done better but I wanted it to get done soon. Been busy with school work lately but it was nice break time exercise.

Thank you. lol I was thinking about half way that I should've added more of the torso but again, I didn't have much space. Glad I was able to do a little bit with the shoulders though. ^_^
