Description
For this really low end required art class that I have to take, we had the assignment of drawing a song or an album cover. I did this already in high school for The Beatles...(re: A Hard Day's Night picture) so now I chose Franz Ferdinand.This is my visual representation of Evil and a Heathen. Har har. It's meant to be sort of sinister, jagged, and they were all meant to look overly serious and evil, gargoyle crouching position....though obviously, I never actually did that.
Oh well. The actual drawing is like 18 x 24 inches, so I scanned this in like 8 pieces, thus some weird lines across it.
Bob was the hardest to draw (and Alex's lips win second), but Nick ended up looking the least like himself. Oh well.
Drawn in pencil, coloured in Copic markers.
Starting from 6oclock going counter clockwise, Alex, Nick, Paul, Bob.

We have practically the same vision for the song. In my head all of the songs on each album have the same colour scheme. The first album is orange, white and black. The second is yellow, red and black. And the third is black, orange, blue and white. Great artwork!

Wow, just found this. Your faces make me weep, they're so lovely. Nick is always the toughest for me to draw, so I feel the pain. Love the composition, how you used the color scheme... yeah, I just love it :]

My boss complains that when her husband's band was starting out and they were touring with Franz, Andy was soooo annoying and by the end of months and months she could not staaaand him. It makes me so envious.
MAN I LOVE THIS. It's been sitting in my watch box for a million years, but like a fine wine I think that's just made it improve with time. I love the black/red interplay and the composition and all that arty drib-drab- BUT MOSTLY I LOVE THAT IT'S FRANZ. Boy, I'm fond of them.
I like how their faces are detailed but their clothes are not. That's goooood.

I love the contrast between their realistic faces and the flat abstractness of the background.
For some odd reason, I can never draw Paul. I can draw the others resonably well, but whenever I even try to draw Paul something goes wrong and I just can't. But you can, so that means even more props from me.

He was pretty hard, but I think he's also one of the more characteristic looking of em. When I met him, I asked him to draw a picture of himself and he drew a face with a black mop top and a unibrow.
