I started this one thinking that it wouldn't be too difficult. I mean, I've already sculpted AJ's hat and other odd pieces. I was unprepared for that damn vest.Braeburn is made from a brushable bait that I can't recall (possibly AJ or Pinkie). I modified the face with super sculpey, painted it with acrylics, and did the tail, mane, hat, and vest with colored sculpey. I sealed up the clay parts with scupley satin glaze.
I also made another one out of a Cheerilee bait with the raised hoof that has the half closed eyes, but I'm to lazy to do a second post for that one so.....

Thanks! I try to take a less is more approach, in that I feel if I put too much additional molding on the face it will look funny in proportion to the body.

Yeah, I put too much on. When I made my custom Soarin, he looks like he has a canister stuck on his snout. XD

Colts are tricky. I really want to avoid modifying the body in any way because that would also likely involve removing the head and I've not done well with that in the past.

I've found myself adding some bulk to a pony once when I made Big Mac. I mad the hooves bigger and longer, added some bulk to the chest and mid-section, and his snout.

I've actually been getting a lot of people telling me that lately, but I really strive to provide fans with high quality, reasonably priced items. Honestly, I know that I could get more for them, but I know how much time I put in and price them to what I think they're worth. I also really enjoy making them so it never seems like I'm slogging through work.
