These are the designs I created for the stained glass suncatchers Carrie and I will (hopefully) have soon for our upcoming conventions. Now that its finally decent out, I can do some stained glass work again. When you cut the pieces, you need to use a glass grinder to get the shapes just right. I don't like using it in the house because it spray glass bits all over the place, which is not a good look. I don't like to wear shoes in my house, and I got enough glass splinters in my feet last time I tried it, so I'm not about to repeat that experience.

Part of the fun of making stained glass is finding the glass to make the designs, and I have a lot of really cool glass to try out. The flat color I used in the mock up will not be what is used for the final product, I just wanted to see if the designs worked with color. The solder lines will be finished in a different patina color for each pony: Silver for Rarity, bronze for Fluttershy and Applejack, and tentatively black for the rest.

When completed, they will be about 4-5 inches tall with a metal ring by ear for hanging.

(And yes, Pinkie is way too dark, but it's only a mock up)
