Description I felt like painting something colourful!

The firebird or zhar-ptitsa (I can't do the Russian characters!) is legendary bird from slavic and Iranian folklore. In some stories, the hero would set out on a quest to seek the firebird, or sometimes only a feather from its tail. The feathers were said to remain alight and glowing even when removed from the tail of the firebird, and one feather could light a room. In other tales, the firebird was a hope-bringer, or captured as punishment for eating the Tsar's apples.

A version of one of the firebird tales was the basis for The Firebird, a ballet by Stravinsky.

i love how this design is deceptively simplistic, but there's so much to it. the color and how the feathers fan out around the head make the composition really work.

I love the way you realised this picture. using the curves of the feathers to frame the bird is really neat, everything just guiding the eye to the center. Very well done
