Description
Well. Today's World AIDS Day, so I decided to make an emoticon about it.For those who didn't understand, that lil red thingie is an evil Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) .__.'
I think it's a bit fast... :T
Whatever... ._. -hm
*Edit*
wow
i didn't expect someone would find this stuff after a year i submitted it, or even put it on daily deviantions
thanx, dudes (:
about it being so fast, i guess i can't fix it anymore, i've lost the original ):
condoms don't fully protect you from aids, there are many other ways you can get it without having sex. but aids is a std, meaning it's mainly transmited during the sex, so it's better to protect urself than doing it with anyone thinking condom won't save you.
It DOES prevent you from getting aids, but there is a kind of condom used only for anticonceptive purpose, that one indeed have the pores and can let the virus pass.
but that's it, thanx for all the comments, faves etc. :B

Abstinence is not protecting that 10% of people on that chart. Abstaining isn't always going to protect you.

I already know that abstaining doesn't protect you completely from HIV.. But it protects you from getting HIV through sexual contact . The other 90% of people did get HIV through sexual contact, though.

Then how come when I said that, you scoffed at me.
I'm over this.

You simply made it sound as if abstaining wasn't an efficient way of preventing HIV.

Hrm, maybe a simple misunderstanding. I simply meant it didn't protect you always. Yes it helps prevent it by contacting it through sex, but its ineffective when it comes to HIV caused by other means.

So... There is no protection from HIV then.

In reality, no. But condoms, yes abstinence, and being drug free can help prevent.

You can get aids even if you don't have sex in your entire life. Not sure to which extent you are informed about aids, not much in my opinion.

You can get aids if you share a srynge with someone with aids, if you're transfused blood from a seropositive person, if your mother had aids when she was pregnant, if you drink the maternal milk of a HIV positive mother...etc
Most body to body contact of fluids is dangerous (though you can't get aids from saliva). A condom can't protect you from getting aids if you share needles with anyone, but abstinence can't protect you from that either.
One should protect oneself in every possible single way.

Ah, I see. So if I only have sex with an uninfected person, and stay away from the bodily fluids of people with HIV (because that happens every day, bro.) Then I should be alright, amirite?

Actually, the condom doesn't give protection against HIV. Remember it still has pores, and HIV is so small that can pass through them.

The only condoms that have pores are those that are not homologated, these aren't meant to protect the user from Aids nor any other sexually transmited illnesses but for the anticonceptive function alone.
Those that are homologated are in fact created and tested with the purpose of protecting the users from Aids and being an anticonceptive. Experiments were done to further prove that this 'theory' of the pores was no more than another myth, using the process of osmosis and electrolisis to see if ions could move across the 'semipermeable' membrane with pores that is a condom. Ions could not move across the condom, meaning that if an ion that is way smaller than HIV virus could not pass through the condom, the HIV virus can't.
Unless the condom tears because of it being in bad state or misusing it and causing it to break.
