partly inspired by a story I've posted somewhere here on DA; I don't feel like looking it up and linking it to you at this hour (its half past midnight) so if you need a mood-setter then here is a good song to go with it (listened to it near constantly whilst painting) www.youtube.com/watch?v=frAR3D… <-give it a shot, trust me its a very powerful and sort of playfully melancholic song. Makes sense in the end.

Basically its the Phoenix, taking out a Harvester ---> ryejahdin.deviantart.com/art/H… the safest way there is to take out a giant, flying creature that's stocked up on weaponized hydrogen plasma that's ready to be launched in a devastating blow at any minute = shoot it with something that makes it implode "harmlessly" -any questions about that gun, I'd answer them in comments-

Trademark movements are trademark XD but I deliberately kept one "mandible" silent; its damaged and therefore not prone or locked, just swinging casually around in the opposite direction of the plane's rotation (yep "Do a barrel roll")

I lost track of how long this took me to make, but at least somewhere around a week even if I didn't work on it daily and sometimes sporadically but I did sacrifice alot to make it. In the end it looks a bit cluttered to me and I might go back and change things if people find things to remark about.

PS:
I learnt some very valuable things that I'll note down here cause I'll probably forget later and need to remind myself; next time I draw these effects I gotta paint out the whole body of the affected craft or whatever - FIRST... that way I'll save alot of headaches with assembling the thing and painting over perfectly awesome parts... damn me.. damn damn damn.. I even got the pictures to prove it; perfectly fine background details painted over -PAAAAAAAIN-ting-

Edit: After all this time; I revisited this and slapped on some effects I've learned, not all too long ago. I think it looks much better now.

here's a bit of a dialogue that's been coursing around my grey cells ever since I drew the lines; been meant to course around in the script before so they're old and completely detached from anything:

"you're responsible for the design of this craft"
-"I am"
"can you tell me why its outlines are reminiscent of the human body somehow"
-"not my first thought, I wanted the new add-ons to make sense, keep thinking of it as my cute little bird"
"that right? and this thing's got one of the world's most powerful close range weapons installed"
-"more like... well.. got the potential to be mass destructive I guess. Wasn't my idea, I just designed the platform and most of it was alrea-"
"that cute little bird of yours is out shooting giants out of the sky!"
