Description
The spectre was designed as a test-bed for certain VTOL and hovering systems, both hardware and software. It proved itself very valuable over the years as it could easily be reconfigured to carry a wide array of components. Now, it remains one of the Federation's few, dedicated science-vessels, outfitted with unique propulsion-systems (that were too flimsy and vulnerable for military use, despite their agility and fuel-economy which grant this craft an exceptionally good range for a ship its size) sensors and computers. It carries several onboard laboratories and living-quarters for the five to seven scientists that call the Spectre their home, for the duration of their survey-missions.
