Description
Necklace, necklace, necklace, necklace, necklace, and... big crown thingy!Kindness, Laughter, Honesty, Generosity, Loyalty, Magic
An origami version of the Elements of Harmony set.
Each item in the set is made from a single 12" square of gold foil. The reverse side of the foil is colored with each element's corresponding color. I'm away from my usual paper supplies and so I ended up gluing colored paper to the white reverse side of the foil paper in the areas that would cover the central jewel. The gold foil turned out to be great for shininess and holding shapes but is very sensitive to crinkles.
Necklace
The base is basically a slightly offset waterbomb base with a sink in the center. I sacrificed a bit of the details in favor of fold-ability and I think each element separately looks okay (not as great as I had hoped), but looks more impressive as a set.
Crown:
A couple details I chose to omit was the array of jewels across the front (there's only one here) and the swirly metal thingies around the purple star. Also, if you look closely, the area connecting the star to the crown is white; this was only the result of the way I colored to reverse side of the gold paper. I had only colored one corner enough to cover the area of the star; had I used true foil duo paper, this white area would be the same color as the star. The photo shows the crown propped up with a piece of rolled blue paper.

Those turned out great, although the apple looks weird with orange leaves. I might have left them the same gold as the necklace, since that's closer to green than orange is.

Yeah, the element of honesty turned out to be a bit trickier than first thought. I had originally omitted the leaves, but it just looked funny. I think I did play around with making the leaves gold, but the contrast of folded leaves against the folded gold layers behind it made them a bit hard to see. Also, the orange color (for an apple???) made this look a bit more like a persimmon.
