Designed and Folded by me from 10.5" square gray Wyndstone Marble paper.Side View: [link]
This was my entry for the origami forum's monthly design challenge. That month's (July) theme was liquids, and instead of having water resting in a natural shape, I decided to make a humanoid water elemental. I wanted a flowing appearance and so experimented with twisting pleats for the body and arms. I had intended for this to be a completely closed model, but having a partially opened chest seems to look pretty cool, so I stuck with it. Since then, I've slightly updated the design and refolded it with better paper, making it more displayable
The original model folded from 24cm light blue/blue duo kami can be found here: [link]

Makes me think of the water element of Warcraft III The frozen Throne

That was indeed one of the references I kinda used when designing this model!

I actually like the open chest, it gives the appearance of the elemental being made of a flat wave of water in motion, as opposed to sort of an amorphous blob of solid water.

This is genius. I can see how it's done, but i would not be able to replicate it. Pure genius.
